Christmas cards

Just finished making two quick cards.

I made this card for Karen. I chose a very elegant Christmas color theme. I embossed the background, glittered the reindeer (which I cut with my Pazzles) and cut the title with my cuttlebug.

I used Sketchy Thursdays card sketch for this one. I don't consider myself much of a card maker, but this sketch inspired me.

Sketch Challenge

I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I know I did! We got together with our immediate family and had a blast. My mother in law is going better too.

Well, I haven't scrapbooked at all this weekend but I did go shopping on Black Friday and I'm sad to say that I didn't buy anything. On a happier note, my husband did get me a computer on Black Friday so it should be coming soon by mail! It's time to upgrade to Windows 7.... (I must admit that I'm a little scared).

Ok, back to the original business...
I'm hosting a sketch challenge at Pages in Time. The members will submit a sketch by Dec. 31 and on Jan 1, the Design Team will choose a winning sketch and use it to make a layout! I will also feature the winning sketch on my blog! Now you too can challenge the Design Team! Here is the link to it!

Bitter/Sweet day

Ok, so there are a lot of things going on around me right now. I made it into the design team and I'm ecstatic about it! I actually just finished my first DT project.
The challenge was to use the image of the ladies in a layout, card or altered item. I made a vintage tag to be used in a future layout.
Here it is:

I was also this week's winner in 52 weeks 52 sketches! I won an AWESOME kit from Work In Progress Kits. Here's my winning layout:

Finally, one of my layouts is layout of the week at Memories Always Forever!
Here it is:

Having said that, the not so good news is that my mother in law has been in the hospital since Sunday with abdominal pain. She has a few ulcers in the duodenum but I just heard that she was released from the hospital about an hour ago.

Another wedding page

The Groom page is finally done!
GROOM

Close ups

I's finally happy with this page! It took me about 2 months to complete! I used Beggahuna's sketch. I cut all the flourishes with the Pazzles and stickled them to give them some sparkle. I used some prima flowers from their Wildwood Collection. I absolutely LOVE this collection! It goes so well with my outdoor wedding pictures! Again, I distressed the title which I cut with the Pazzles. Finally, I stickled a bog flourish on the top right corner. I felt it needed something there and some people suggested it. I like how it looks!

Wedding Layouts

I finally finished two pages for my wedding album!

INTRODUCTION PAGE

Close ups

This layout took a few hours to complete. I handmade the green swirl with stickles (I love that stuff!). I also made the little picket fence and stickles it with Platinum stickle. I threaded some lace between the fence, added some Prima flowers, and some handmade butterflies. I also handmade the title, with a little help from the Pazzles. I cut everything with the Pazzles and then roughed up the edges of the letters in 'Cinderella' to give it a distressed but soft look to them. Then, I added some more stickle and tiny handmade butterflies. I love how this page turned out!

This page was easier to make. Again, I cut the title and the black flourishes with my Pazzles and roughed up the edges of the title to give it a softer look. I used Prima flowers, which I found out matched perfectly with my outdoor wedding pictures and added some handmade butterflies. The crystal bling was actually part of my bouquet so I used it to embellish this page. I handcut the background paper into a scalloped circle and mount it on white cardstock.

A great finding...

Ok, so about a month ago now (wow, how time flies!) I was browsing and came across this little scrapping community called Pages in Time. They have a great forum filled with challenges, tutorials and a GREAT gallery. I spend all of my time browsing through those wonderful pieces of art. My favorite part about this community is that it is small and for the most part, you know everyone, the ones that are active anyway. If you haven't checked it out, go right now!

In record time!

So, I checked out my favorite blogs and websites when I woke up this morning and when I got to Sketchy Thursdays', I found out about this charity water challenge! The challenge was to use their sketch and the theme was water. Well, I found out that I only had 3 hours to choose my papers, pictures, make the LO and link it to the challenge. I finished in two hours!
Here it is:

and some close ups:

I used white paint on the blue paper to get a splatter look. I also tore the edges and inked them. The butterfly and the bubbles are handmade by me.
