friday...

Happy Friday everyone!
I just finished my sample layout based on March Sketch Challenge over at PIT (Pages in Time). I know, I just finished it and it's March 26th! Shame on me!..but!, on my defense, I wanted to use this sketch for the pictures from my husband's uncle Georgie's wedding, which was this past Saturday.

and some close ups:

I cut the title and the leaves using my Pazzles. I ran the word wedding through the embossing folder in my cuttlebug and then stickled the raised dots. The journaling I printed from my computer and cut it into strips of paper. I distressed the strips with a pair of scissors. I handmade the bling with platinum stickles. Finally, I handmade the red roses in different shades of red and stickled them too.

wednesday...

Here's my latest creation! A double layout.

Remember those? Yup, back when I fist started scrapping I only made double layouts but lately I only make single layouts. Double layouts can come in handy when you have a bigger event (such as a wedding or birthday part or trip) since you can use more pictures to portray the story. For this layout I used Karen's Thursday Sketch done by Alda. It is a single page sketch so, how did I do it?

Well, there are many ways that you can turn a single page sketch into a double layout.

You can:

mirror it:

This is my favorite technique and is exactly what I did in my layout! I like this one because it's gives me a symmetrical double layout.

Mirror it in the opposite direction:

This one is just like it but mirrored in the other direction. You still get the same symmetry here.

rotate it:

You don't have to stop here where I stopped! You can keep rotating until you see something that you like. I stopped here because, again, I like the symmetry.

extend it:

I like this technique too since it lets you be creative when doing this!

Last but not least, you can place two different sketches side by side but this one is a little more tricky since not all sketches look good one next to the other. Well, hope that you enjoyed this little tip. Hope to see more double layouts in the boards soon!

Here are some better pictures of each side of the layout:

Hello all! Welcome to my blog! First of all, Happy Birthday Rebekah! In honor of her birthday weekend, we are doing a blog hop and this is only your 4th stop. Today I have a quick tutorial for you. Many have asked me how do I do the paper roses that I use in a lot of my layouts and today is your day because I have put together a quick tutorial on them. This is my quick version of Tim Holtz's roses.

Here's the card that I made with this rose:

and here are some of my past layouts where I've used this technique:

friday...

Ok, here's the finished Easter double layout that I have for sale on eBay. This layout is very glittery and will be perfect for any little girl's album. There is room for 4 pictures and there are 2 partially hidden tags for journaling. These pages feature a handmade tear bear bunny, two of my adorable tear bear, handmade 3D butterflies, Easter eggs and a paper pieced Easter train! All the chocolate bunnies, Easter baskets, lollipops and baby chicks are handmade by me, making this layout ONE OF A KIND (OOAK). All the flowers have stickles on them although the pictures don't always show it. These pages just glimmers! The photomats and background are machine sewn and have a great deal of texture. Scroll down for more pictures of this layout.
