monday...YET again!

Ok, so I had to do another post today because I'm so exited right now! Lisa from A Walk Down Memory Lane has invited me to be part of her Feb.-July 2011 Design Team! She runs an online store, blog and forum where you can find tips and tutorials, and scrappy inspiration everyday in their daily sketches and prompts! Come and check out the site and say hi to the rest of the design team!

monday...again!

One of my resolutions for this year is to make a scrapbook album (or two!) for all my Disney pictures. I have pictures from all the parks (some of them I've been there twice!) from 2008 to 2010 and I really want to get them scrapped. I did a rough count of the layouts I want to do and it came up to about 60 layouts!!!!!! So, I figured I better get scrapping....

Like I mentioned yesterday, Trail Makers are running a challenge in their blog and the challenge is to make your own embellies and if you know me, I make most of my embellies so I couldn't pass this challenge.

Here's my first Disney layout of 2011:

Supplies: cardstock: colorbok, DCWV; patterned paper: Sandylion; embellishments: all are handmade by me; ink: Craft Smart; other: Pazzles to cut title, flourishes, mickey icon; cuttlebug embossing folder and alpha; rhinestones from Joann

I used a Pagemaps sketch for inspiration and the Counterfeit Kit that I talked about earlier. The pictures are from Toontown in the Magic Kingdom. The flowers I handmade using my Pazzles, as well as the black & glittered mickey icons and the title and swirls. The Disney bingo card I designed in photoshop and the printed it out and glittered the Disney part. I love how it turned out! The Mickey is also printed with my printer in a semi gloss photo paper and then cut out. It's way cheaper than to buy stickers and it looks just as wonderful! I embossed the red squares with my cuttlebug. Speaking of which, I made my own foam thickers using the cuttlebug and the Harmony alphabet set and I love the dimension it gives the layout!

Here are some close ups of my handmade embellies:

Thank you for stopping by! Have a wonderful day,

monday...

Happy Monday everyone! Hope that you all have a great week!

Today I want to share a new Challenge Site that I found while googling (don't you just love this word???)

It's called Counterfeit Kit Challenge and as you might have guessed from the title, they are a challenge site who 'couterfeits' designer kit clubs by gathering materials from your stash. So, I thought I would give it a go this month and see how challenging it would be. Wel, they chose a really cool kit by Jenni Bowlin from last month. Here it is:

I think the kit is beautiful but not my style or colors at all but I still wanted to give it a go. I decided to just make a page kit (enough for one layout) and chose specific colors that I thought I could work with as my inspiration for my kit. I chose red/yellow/black and of course I immediately thought-DISNEY!

Here's my kit:

Supplies: Colorbook & DCWV cardstock; Sandylion pattern paper; floss; handmade Mickey, black Mickey icons, Disney bingo card, journaling strips, and flowers (using my Pazzles).

I handmade the Mickey by looking for a picture in google, printing it on semi glossy photo paper and cuting it out using a tiny pair of scissors. It's cheaper than buying the stickers. I designed the Disney bingo card and the journaling strips on photoshop. The yellow flowers mimic the ones in the kit but are all also handmade by me using the Pazzles. I didn't add any letters here because I cut out my own title with my Pazzles so I figured I'd do that with one of the cardstocks that I have here in my kit.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my kit! Cant wait to work with it!

sunday...again!

Now, for my next announcement, I was asked to be part of the Trail Makers Design Team from Feb.-April 2011!

I'm so exited to be designing for them and I can't wait to start playing with their kits! Trail Makers also has a challenge site with wonderful challenges! You can check out their current challenge here, which is about making your own embellies! How fun is that? I'm actually working on a layout right now for this challenge and ever embellie that I used is handmade! Don't forget to stop by in a day or two so you can see my layout. I'll have some tips to share with you all!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you are having a wonderful weekend!
