Happy Friday everyone!

I usually list new products (layouts, paper piecings, borders, cards, etc) on Ebay on Fridays so from now on, every Friday I'll be doing a blog post featuring the listings!

The first one is a Shabby Chic Love/Valentine's Day PBA album. I actually have a lot of pictures so I made a slideshow for it:

It has 10 full pages inside, not including the front and back page, and 6 smaller 5"x3.5" mini pages, that are perfect for removable tags for journaling and/or extra pictures. There are also four 5"x4.5" removable tags in the paper bag pockets. This makes this mini album 18 pages in total! I stitched every page and almost every tag. I used tags, flowers, bling, rick rack, ribbon, glitter, stickles, doily, shaped brads, and lace among other other things to embellish this album. This album is full of details and ready for you to add your pictures!

thursday...doily tutorial

Welcome back! I have a tutorial for you today, just as I promised yesterday, on how to make your own doily just like the one that I used in the layout below:

Name: Doily Tutorial
Supplies:

HCD 717 Layered Scalloped Posy Die
317430 Cuttlebug machine (or any other manual die cutting machine)
white cardstock
Ranger Liquid Peals (White Opal)
Martha Stewart Large Circle Cutter (or any circle cutter)

Step 1. Cut and distress a 5" circle out of white cardstock. Die cut 9 small doilies from the Layered Scalloped Posy Die set.

Step 2. Turn your circle around and glue each small doily side by side all around the back of the circle to make the doily. This is the back side of your doily.

Step 2b. This is how the front should look like.

Step 3. This is what you get when you glue all the smaller half doilies. You can use this as is or you can go a step further and embellish it.

Step 3b. I used this doily as a photo mat.

Step 4. Die cut 9 small posy flowers out of white cardstock and glue them over the posies on the doily scallop edges and add a small dot of liquid pearl to finish them off.

This layout is inspired by the January SwirlyHues Challenge. I used the sketch that they provided along the color palette and came up with this layout! The picture is of Linda and her husband. Linda is the owner and CEO of Heartfelt Creations and she kindly allowed me to use her beautiful picture.

I used Robin's Water Distressing Tutorial for my background papers. I love to water distress on my layouts since it gives them a lot of depth! I also used Lisa Gregory's Puffed Rose Flower Tutorial for my two blue roses.

I had a lot of fun working on this layout and used a lot of techniques on it and I can honestly say that I love how it turned out!

You can barely see it here but I handmade a doily mat for the picture. I'm working on a tutorial that I'll have up for you tomorrow so come back tomorrow to see it! For the title, I combined stamps and letter stickers. I stamped the word LOVE directly onto the background using black ink. I then carefully painted the heart that forms with the swirls in blue and added Diamond Glaze to it to make it stand out. I added the rest of the title in white above and below the stamped image.

I stamped and colored two Flirty Fleurs Precut Set flowers and added them to the left side of the picture.

I made a few flowers (white roses, blue puffed roses, and small blue sunflowers), stamped and die cut a few leaves and swirls, butterflies and arranged them around the picture. I love all the depth that the flowers give this layout!

Here is the step by step write-up for this layout:

Water distress your sheet of pattern paper and one coordinating cardstock. Adhere onto a brown cardstock base the water distressed blue cardstock and the pattern paper. Ink the raised edges with Vintage Photo distress ink. Die cut two Decorative Lace Borders, cut out the bottom side and place as shown on the left side and in the bottom (string a cream ribbon through this one before adhering). Distress two pieces of pattern paper and layer them as shown on the left side over the die cut border. For the doily photomat, die cut 9 small doilies from the Layered Scalloped Posy Die Set and adhere behind a 5” white circle. Crop your picture into a circle a little under 5”. Adhere to the photo mat doily and place over the layers. Die cut a few white posies and layer them over the doily. Stamp the word LOVE on the right side of the picture with black ink. Color in the heart with Stormy Sky distress ink and add Diamond Glaze over it to give it shine. Add the rest of the title from the Basic Grey White alphas. For the cluster, stamp the Flirty Fleurs Precut Set flower bunch twice, color the image with Prismacolor pencils, blend them with OMS and fuzzy cut them. Make a few extra posies, layer them over the flower bunch (keep a few for the rest of the cluster) and add a drop of liquid pearls to the center. Stamp two of the largest flowers and four of the smallest flowers from the Botanical Floral 1 Precut Set and die cut them with the matching Spellbinders Rose Creations. Glimmer mist them with Pearl glimmer mist and layer them to make your flower. Add them to the cluster and add Diamond Stickles to the edges. For the blue roses, die cut using the Spellbinders Rose Creations dies four of the second largest flowers and layer them to make a rose. Add puffy paint to the edges and let dry. After it dries, lightly heat the edges up with a heat embossing gun. Finish them by adding Diamond stickles to the edges. Stamp a few of the smallest flowers from the Daisy Patch Flowers Precut Set and die cut them with the matching die. Color them with Stormy Sky distress ink and layer two of them together to make the flower. Finish these by adding a few drops of liquid pearls to the center. Stamp a few leaves from the Botanical Floral 2 Precut Set and die cut them with the Spellbinders Rose Creations dies. Ink the edges with Vintage Photo and fold them in half. Die cut and emboss a few swirls from the Decorative Dutch Iris dies and cut them in half. Now, just build your flower cluster as shown and place on the left side of the picture. Stamp, color with Stormy Sky and fuzzy cut a few flowers from the Bella Rose Vintage Background Stamp Precut Set and add around the title and cluster.

Today I have another layout to share with you featuring Paper Smooches stamps!

I made this masculine layout using my old stash. Everything from the pattern paper to the alphas to the embellies were in my stash. It feels good to use your stash to make room for new scrappy goodies!

Again, I used my Paper Smooches Alphabet Stamp (Alphadot) to make my title. I stamped each letter individually in black ink on kraft cardstock. I cut them apart, dry embossed them using my Cuttlebug machine, inked their edges and VOILA! Custom masculine alphas for my layout!

I did a lot of distressing and inking on this layout to make it a bit more masculine. I always struggle with masculine layouts because I feel that the finished page is not layered or embellished enough. To make sure that this didn't happen with this layout, I decided to use masculine color flowers (browns, deep oranges) and add buttons as their center. I also cut a few gears with my Pazzles Inspiration, inked them and used UTEE on them to give them a nice finishing look. I love how they turned out!

Here's another look at the bigger cluster. I just love how the gears look on this layout! I also added a small denim (my old pair of jeans) knot to the cluster for a pop of a different color!

It's that time of the year again! AWDML is having a DT call and are looking for 4 designers. The term is from March 2012 – August 2012 (6 months) and I definitely recommend this DT! It's amazing and it's very easy to get along with the owner which makes it for a very fun experience! (link to blog)

Here are the details:
We are so excited to announce that we are looking for 4 designers for our March 2012 – August 2012 team!! The call is open from January 20th through February 10th. We will be announcing the new design team on our blog and newsletter on February 15th.

So WHO are we looking for?

We are looking for inspiring designers who are creative, ambitious and who can design with our products from the store. We are looking for designers who can display the following:

- Open communication skills
- Unique individual style
- Individuals that can display flexibility, teamwork and cooperation
- Ability to display and teach different techniques
- Ability to create layouts from a basic to a more advanced skill level
- Creativity in the use of our products to help promote A Walk Down Memory Lane
- Ability to teach online classes and write up instructions, video tutorials are a plus!
- Must be able to work within deadlines and under pressure
- Copic Certified designer is a plus

What do I need to Apply?

1) We would like you to submit Three (3) original layouts and one paper craft project that best represent you and your style. Acceptable paper craft projects would be altered items, cards, mini albums, etc. All submitted items must be your own design (they don’t have to be made specifically for this call) and e-mailed to DesignTeamCall@awalkdownmemorylane.net

2) Active participation on message boards and in galleries is important and will be considered when we chose our team. You will also be required to have an active blog

What to include in your Application besides your projects?

* Link to your blog where you post your scrappy/stamp/paper craft creations.
* Links to other design Teams you are currently on, and scrapbook resume (if you have one). If you are currently on a design team please include how long you've been there, and when your term will end, also include your title there (for example: DT coordinator, strictly LO designer, etc) Also Let us know if you've been published and where (here's your chance to TOOT!).

Please include your answer the following questions in your email submission:

Now for the Nitty Gritty...What you’ll do as a DT member:
1) Your DT term would be from March 2012 – August 2012 .
2) Each month you must, create, at minimum 4 layouts & 1-2 papercraft projects. Your work must be sent in via email by the 25th of each month. You will be responsible for ordering your own products from the store and making sure that you have enough time to get your assignments done for your deadlines.
3) Post your DT layouts on galleries and blogs throughout the web, whenever possible, link to AWDML. Watch other promotion Message Boards and Blogs for product chats and talk us up where possible.
4) Participate in Facebook and blog discussions on a regular basis and keep the Facebook page going by regularly posting new topics, games, challenges, tips & tricks, project examples, etc.
5) Newsletter participation is a must, you must sign up monthly for at least two newsletter articles per month (product highlight, small project with instructions, sketches, etc)
6) You must have a “scrapblog” or a blog that you talk about scrapping on and update it regularly each week with a post about projects you’ve used from the store, featured manufacturer, or whatever. We ask that you also have links to our site and your DT blinkie on your blog and other sites where allowable.
7) Be the eyes and ears for AWDML online, finding new inspiration or ideas and sharing them to help our community grow.
8) Each DT member will be required to post to the AWDML DT blog once per week. You will also be required to post a class and a challenge once a month. We will have a rotating schedule so you don’t have to do BOTH in one week.
9) You will be responsible for weekly posts on our Facebook page
10) You must sign and return the AWDML DT contract before your DT term begins.

This layout is based on my own sketch for Creative Scrappers, sketch #190, seen below:

Instead of one picture I used three 3"x4" pictures of my aunt's birthday party last year. I pulled the colors from her shirt and made the layout mostly purple (Glitz Design and Paper Pizazz paper), black and white. I water distressed the edges and inked them.

I used the Paper Smooches Alphabet Stamp (Alphadot) to make my title. I stamped each letter leaving a little bit of space between each one, cut them all apart and matted them unto black cardstock. I finished by adding a white doodled line around the edges to make them stand out. I used the corner punch from the Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page Scallop 3 Dot punch to make my black doily. (If you need a tutorial, Lisa has a great video tutorial on Swirlydoos!) I wanted it to pop so I decided to run a zig zag machine stitch all around the circle and I love how it turned out!

Of course I made a flower cluster! I used mostly old Primas and Recollection but also included other flowers that I've had in my stash for too many years! I did hand make one though. I just had to!

I made a big purple/black rose and added stickles to the edges and placed it on the center of the cluster. I die cut a few leaves and butterflies to add to the cluster too.

Welcome to another Heartfelt Creations post. Today I want to share a card that I made using the new The Chateau Gate Collection stamps.

I colored my stamped images with Prismacolor pencils and OMS. I left the card little more plain than normal so you can see my coloring. These stamps are amazing and perfect for coloring. I just enjoyed myself coloring like I used to do back in high school!

Here is the step by step write-up for this layout:

Outside:

Stamp the Chateau Gateway Precut Set twice on cream cardstock. Color them in using Antique Linen and Vintage Photo distress inks, and Prismacolor pencils with OMS to blend the colors. Distress the edges of the first image and adhere to a 4.25”x5.5” cream colored card base. Cut out the gate from the second image and cut open the door. Stamp the Doorway Trimmings Precut Set scene on cream cardstock and color with Prismacolor pencils and OMS to blend the colors. Cut out and place this image between the first and second gateway images. Use pop dots to raise the cut out gate and layer on top of the colored scene image. Die cut a few vines from the Decorative Chateau Gate Die. Stamp and cut out a few red flowers from the Flirty Fleurs Precut Set and place the vines and flowers around the gate. Stamp the sentiment and add to the top left side of the card. Add 3 rhinestones on the bottom left side of the sentiment.

Inside:

Stamp directly onto the card base the Flirty Fleurs Precut Set image twice without reinking the stamp on the corner of the card. On red cardstock, stamp the sentiment and glue onto an upside down brown Decorative Chateau Gate Die window die cut. Adhere this to the left side of the card.

Good morning everyone! Today is a special day since it's my best friend's birthday! Happy Birthday Hanay! I was able to spend the day with her and her family yesterday at Animal Kingdom. If you missed it, here's the card that I made for her-and she loved it! :)

Now, on to some scrappy goodness. Today is the 15th which means reveal day for AWDML. This month's featured manufacturers at A Walk Down Memory Lane are Authentique and Paper Smooches. This means that this whole month Authentique and Paper Smooches products are 25% off over at the AWDML store! Now, this is my first time working with both manufacturers and I have to say that I love them both! Authentique papers are amazing-great thickness (for distressing), awesome patterns and amazing colors! Paper Smooches has great clear stamps and their alphabets fonts are great!

Believe it or not, this little alphabet set by Paper Smooches called Alphadot is my very first alpha stamp set! I know, I know! I actually started scrapping before I stamped so now is when I'm getting around to getting a few basic stamps-like alphas!

Here are a few cards that I made with this set of alphas:

ink: StatzOn Timber Brown, Tim Holtz ( Evergreen Bough, Vintage Photo);
stamp: Paper Smooches Acrylic Stamp Alphadot, Imaginisce Snag'em Stamp Fairest of them All Bird;
pens: American Crafts Precision Pen (Black);
tools: Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page (vintage flower), Cuttlebug Machine, Pazzles Inspiration Machine;

I had this idea of using the whole alphabet (I just love them!) in a card and somehow made two of them! For this first one, I stamped the whole thing (minus the letters H and I) in brown and then went back and did the two letters in Evergreen Bough (teal) to make the sentiment stand out. I matted the sentiment twice, once in teal cardstock and then on brown cardstock. I finally used the Imaginisce Fairest of them All bird stamp and made a little birdie that i pop dotted on the bottom right side of the sentiment.

Here's my next card using the whole alphabet. It's actually a little note card that I made for my hubby to hide in one of his work coat for him to find later.

I forgot to mention, before you stamp the whole alphabet, die cut and add a small red heart between the n and the o. Double mat the whole thing with red and black cardstock and place on a 3"x3" note card.

Happy Friday! Today I have one last Authentique layout to share with you.

For this layout, I used the Authentique Gathering Collection. I actually used a 12"x12" sheet of paper for the background (Reminisce) and the rest of the pattern papers are from the Gathering 6x6 Paper Pads.

The pictures I used for this layout were taken right outside a little French bakery (our favorite!) at France (in Epcot Center-Disney World). Since we moved just 15 minutes away from Disney World, my hubby and I purchased the annual passes and come and go to all 4 parks as we please. Our favorite one to go to is actually Epcot since it's targeted for adults and we don't see many kids there. Don't get me wrong, we love kids, but we are young and still in the let's-spend-our-time-together-without-kids stage since we don't have any yet. :)

For this layout, I machine stitched almost all the layers but the die cut shape. I designed and cut this die cut paper with my Pazzles Inspiration and doddled in faux stitching. I like the contrast of real machine stitching and the faux stitching so close to each other. I also used the top of this die cut paper for my journaling which I did by hand this time around.

I used the second half of the die cut paper to add my title which was a bit longer than what I'm used to so I had to use two letter stickers (I just love those brown alphas by Fancy Pants!).

I handmade some roses using my Spellbinders Rose Creations dies in oranges and browns and a few leaves to fill in the cluster.

Here's another shot of one of my handmade roses (they are so easy and simple to make!). I also added a few Jenni Bowlin butterflies which actually reminded me of France.

The picture I used is of my hubby and I in the WA state mountains last February. It was my first time seeing snow and I was delighted!

This new collection has a lot of stamps that are great for coloring and I knew that I wanted to make my own pattern paper with one of them as soon as I saw the birdies on the branches! I stamped on a white cardstock the birds image in the bottom right corner and colored the image with my distress inks. I love how it turned out since it looks like I used watercolors! I added some stickles here and there to accent the image. I also randomly stamped the Vintage Life Background image around the edges with brown ink. I then distress all the edges and inked with Vintage Photo randomly around the edges. Finally, I added a zig zag line about half an inch from the border.

For the flowers, I stamped different size flowers from the Botanical Floral sets onto white cardstock, die cut them using the matching Spellbinders Rose Creations die and glimmer misted with Sunflower glimmer mist to give them color. While still wet, I wrinkled the petals to give them some depth and shape. For the larger flowers, glue two flowers of decreasing size inside the other, staggering the petals. For the center, form a tight bud and place in the center.To finish them off, add some Crystal Glitter to the edges. I added a little window with my sentiment above the flower cluster. I finished by adding some butterflies and a few leaves.

Here is the step by step write-up for this layout:

Stamp the Dainty Blooms and Birdies Precut Set birds on the bottom right corner of a white cardstock. Randomly stamp the Vintage Life Background Precut Set stamp around the edges of the cardstock and randomly ink around the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink to give the background some color. Color in the birds image with Iced Spruce and Vintage Photo distress ink and add some Diamond Stickles to the image. Distress the edges of the white cardstock, adhere to a brown cardstock and machine stitch a zig zag line all around the edges leaving about half an inch margin from the border. Cut three rectangles measuring 5”x8.5”, 6.25”x7” and 3.5”x10”. Distress the edges and doodle in faux stitched to the first two, machine stitch the third one and adhere to your background as shown. Die cut two 10” border from the Decorative Butterfly/Border die and add behind the top paper layer. Adhere your picture in the middle of the layout and add pattern paper borders in the bottom right side of the picture. Randomly stamp the flourish from the Palace Entry Precut Set around where the flower cluster will be. For the flowers, stamp different size flowers from the Botanical Floral sets onto white cardstock. Die cut them using the matching Spellbinders Rose Creations die and glimmer mist with Sunflower glimmer mist to give them color. While still wet, wrinkle the petals to give them some depth and shape. For the larger flowers, glue two flowers of decreasing size inside the other, staggering the petals. For the center, form a tight bud and place in the center. Lightly ink some Wild Honey distress ink in random spot for dimension. Add some Crystal Glitter to the edges and adhere to the bottom left side of the flower. For the smaller flowers layer the 2 smaller size flowers staggering the petals and curling the top flower’s petals upwards. Finish by adding Diamond Stickles to the edges and adhere them around the larger flowers. Finish the cluster by die cutting different shades of brown leaves from the Spellbinders Rose Creations and smaller black vines from the Decorative Chateau Gate Die set. Die cut the smaller window from the Decorative Chateau Gate Die set in black. Stamp the sentiment onto blue pattern paper and adhere behind the open window. Adhere to the left side of the picture. Finish by adding some butterflies and randomly placed liquid peal dots around the cluster.

For this card I used a digital cat stamp which I colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS. I stamped a simple sentiment over the colored image and added a punched circle over the image and background layers. I finished the card off by adding 3 small flowers on the bottom right of the circle.

For this one, I used Heartfelt Creations stamps and colored the image with Prismacolor pencils and OMS. For the circle as asked for in the sketch, I actually used a Heartfelt Creations Exclusive die. I did the background the same way I made the background for the first card-three pieces of pattern paper, distressed the edges and doodled in stitches. I added the sentiment directly unto the background layer and added a few more posy flowers to the circle.

Good morning bloggers! I'm sorry I missed my Heartfelt Creations Wednesday post but I have been so sick since Christmas Eve that I just couldn't even sit down and scrap. I'm finally feeling much better now after 2 weeks of feeling yucky.

Well, let's get back to scrappy business! As you know from my previous post, this month's featured manufacturers at A Walk Down Memory Lane are Authentique and Paper Smooches. This means that this whole month Authentique and Paper Smooches products are 25% off over at the AWDML store! Now, this is my first time working with both manufacturers and I have to say that I love them both! Authentique papers are amazing-great thickness (for distressing), awesome patterns and amazing colors! Paper Smooches has great clear stamps and their alphabets fonts are great! Today, I have a very girly birthday card to share with you. I used the Uncommon Collection again because I just love working with it!

This is my second time making an easel card, although this is my first making a 6x6 easel. Here's a tutorial if you are interested but I'm warning you, these are addicting!

I handmade all the flowers for this card which happens to be for my best friend! I used Spellbinders Rose Creations dies to make the roses (

I'm so loving making these little roses!) and leaves and my Pazzles Inspiration machine to make the rolled flower (yeah, I'm lazy like that!). I stamped and colored a Magnolia Circus Tilda image using Prismacolor pencils and OMS. It was my first time using coloring pencils since high school art class! I do love how the sweet Tilda turned out though! I pop dotted her to give her some dimension among the flowers and added my friend's name to the front of the card.

This is a close up of the bottom part of the card as it stands up. I stamped my sentiment onto white cardstock, added liquid pearl dots and finished it off by adding 2 butterflies to the inside of the card.

TIP: The lace holding the card up is actually made out of paper! Make your own ruffled trims out of paper for a custom look. Simply choose your favorite border punch, punch out a border in white, ink the strip of paper to your liking, and fold it back and forth or distress with your fingers to give it some dimensions. Simply add it to your layout or card for some dimension!

Good morning everyone! I found out about My Creative Scrapbook Fall Sketch Contest late December and started working on it right away! Their contest was actually 3 months long and I heard about it during their last month. However, they are giving everyone a chance to play catch up and work on the other 2 sketches and link them up before the 15th.

Below are my 3 layouts based on their 3 sketches.

Sketch 1.

My Take:

I loved working with this sketch! I added a few layers (the die cut shaped) to the background, used a doily as my circle and replaced the starts with handmade flowers on the right side of the picture.

Sketch 2.

My Take:

For this layout, I mirrored the sketch horizontally and added a few more layers. I replaced the hearts with handmade flowers and omitted the journaling. I also added another focus area on the top right side of the layout because it looked too empty to me.

Sketch 3.

My Take:

For this layout, I played around with the sizes of the background layers. I only included one larger picture (4x6) instead of the square picture, and omitted the smaller two pictures. I left the title in the same spot but made it smaller to accommodate my longer title.

This picture was taken on Feb. 14-Valentine's Day (2008), Wedding Proposal Day(2008), and Day that hubby and I got legally married (2009) (our church wedding was in May 2009). We took this picture in his room after we got back from Fairchild Tropical Botanical Gardens and I was proudly wearing my engagement ring. We set up the camera on his dresser and put a timer to get this picture. I'm so glad that we did because this is the only good picture that we took that day!

I used a lot of layers for this layout. I wanted to go for soft and romantic and the Uncommon Collection was exactly was I was looking for!

I used pink Prima flowers that I've had forever because, as I said earlier, I don't scrap with pink too often (I have no idea why I bought these flowers in the first place...). I also used Jenni Bowlin Butterflies and Zva Creative bling.

I love how the title area looks! I don't ever do long titles but I absolytely love how they look! I used Authentique's bubbles stickers for the title and Doodlebug design pink letters to finish it with a pop of color. I placed the title on a white doily from Walmart's cake decoration aile and finished it off with a Martha Stewart punched lacey border.

Of course, I layered my papers, distressed and machine stitched them. I also clustered my flowers and butterflies.

I handmade the cream colored roses (link to my tutorial) this time, using Donna Salazar's Rose Creations Dies (Spellbinders), and small rolled up flowers. I die cut a few leaves and added them to the cluster to finish it up. Lastly, I added a few butterflies, some bling and a few randomly placed rhinestones with my i-Rock-love this little tool!

2011-what a year it has been! My hubby finally graduated from Pharmacy school, we moved away from our home town because of his job (from Miami, FL to Orlando, FL), we got our own apartment together 2 yrs after getting married, and I have served in a few AMAZING design teams! It has been a hard year financially and emotionally but we have always had God by our side and I thank God for these hardships because without them we can't appreciate the good times.

Today is the last day of 2011 and although to me it was just yesterday that I was saying this about 2010, a whole year has gone by. I want to take a few minutes to share with you my favorite 10 layouts that I made during this past year in no particular order.

friday...gift card holder tutorial

Hi everyone! Welcome back to my blog! Today I have a fast and easy gift card holder tutorial for you.

Supplies-
cardstock: Recollections;
patterned paper: Bella Blvd Hello Beautiful Cute Cuts, Bella Blvd Midterm Physics;
bling: Ranger Stickles (Icicle);
ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Vintage Photo);
pens: American Crafts Percision Pen (Black), Ranger Opaque White pen;
stamp: Fiskars Acrylic Stamps All Year Greetings;
tools: Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page (Cherish);
other: fasteners

Step 1. Cut a cream color cardstock to 4.25"x7". Fold inwards at 2.5" and 5.5". Punch using your Cherish Martha Stewart Punch on the top and bottom as shown.

Step 2. Cut out of pattern paper the following dimensions: 3.75"x1.75" (front), 3.75"x2.75" (x2-1 inside, 1 back), 3.75x1.0" (bottom). Ink and add faux stitching to all the edges. Adhere corresponding pattern paper to the right side. One of the 3.75"x2.75" pieces if for the back panel.

Step 3. Using just a little bit of glue on each side, adhere the bottom panel.

Step 4. Stamp a sentiment on the inside top panel and add a fastener to the middle of the gift card holder.

Step 5. Now, for the outside, fuzzy cut the blue cake from the Bella Blvd Hello Beautiful Cute Cuts pattern paper. Ink the edges, pop dot the die cut shape and adhere to the front of the gift card holder as shown.

Step 6. Add stickles to the edges, sprinkes and heart shape and you are done!

Step 6b. Here is what the gift card holder looks like with an actual gift card inside.

I used the Aztec Gold Sunflowers 2 Precut Set flowers stamps and turned them into Christmas flowers. These 'sunflowers' are so versatile! I just stamped the flowers on red cardstock and added gold stickles to the edges. I cut in between the petals a little but and folded each petal upwards to make them 3D.

Here is the step by step write-up for this layout:
Cut red cardstock base to 6”x12”, score at 6” and fold. Cut a 5”x5” panel from pattern paper, distress and ink the edges, and mat it with green cardstock and adhere in the center of the red card base. Stitch around the edges. Stamp the Magnificent Spruce Trees Precut Set 3 times on cream cardstock, overlapping them. Die cut, emboss and ink the embossed areas for dimension the Decorative Oval Window and place over the trees image. Trim the image to fit inside the frame and adhere in the center of the pattern paper. Stamp the smallest Book Frame 2 Precut Set and a sentiment inside it on cream cardstock. Fuzzy cut it, ink the edges and bend the sides of the book to make it more 3D. Stamp 2 small and 1 larger size flowers on red cardstock. Glimmer mist them to add shine, fuzzy cut them and layer 2 of them to make the larger bloom. Add gold stickles to all the edges and center of the flowers. Adhere them to the bottom left side of the image and place the book sentiment right above them. Stamp a few different size leaves from the Distressed Leaves Preset on green cardstock and fuzzy cut them. Shape them with your fingers and add to the cluster. Make a red bow and add to the right bottom corner.

Just a quick post today to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! I'll leave you with my Christmas cards this year. I just love how they all turned out!

I used my tutorial to make these cards but used two pattern papers and made 18 cards-in less than 2 days! I was actually really pressed for time since my hubby and I are taking a long vacation this Christmas. We are spending almost 2 weeks with our family and friends down in Miami so I had to get everything done between Thanksgiving and the 15th done!

Hope you can use this tutorial sometime too! you can make birthday cards or mix and match and have different sentiments for a nice handmade set that match! Merry Christmas!

Happy Friday! I can't believe that tomorrow is Christmas Eve! Does your family gets together on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? My side of the family gets together the 24th and my hubby's gets together on the 25th so it works out perfectly for us! We spend the 24th with my family, open presents early the next day, and come over to my in-laws to open some more presents and have dinner later that day.

Anyway, if you are still working on those last minute gifts, here is a very easy solution. Buy gift cards and hand-make the gift card holders for a handmade touch!

Welcome back bloggers! Today I have another Heartfelt Creations layout to share with you featuring the Leafy Swirls Precut Set and Aztec Gold Sunflowers 2 Precut Set limited edition stamps. I just love how this layout turned out! I used a gorgeous 5"x7" picture of Ellen, Linda (Heartfelt Craetions owner)'s daughter for this layout. I water distressed and machine stitched the background's borders and ripped a piece right off it from the top right side.

I used a stamped piece of cardstock using the Bella Rose Vintage Background Precut Set stamp behind this area and highlighted the words with stickles and layered a butterfly to make it my title. I then hand stitched the area to make it look broken and stitched back together.

Of course, I handmade my flowers, this time in pink. I used chalk first to give them color (I stamp everything in either white or cream cardstock) and then I glimmer misted them with Pearl Glimmer Mist to give them some shine. I used a pearl brad for the center and then I added some Diamond Stickles around it to finish off the centers.

I finished it off by adding Ellen's name to the right of the photo and adding a die cut butterfly, stickled to make it shine.

Here is the step by step write-up for this layout:

Water distress your pattern paper and ink the edges. On the top right side of the background paper, gently tear a piece out of the pattern paper. Stamp the Bella Rose Vintage Background Precut Set onto cream cardstock and place it under the tear in the top left side making sure that you can see the “you are so beautiful to me” sentiment from the stamped image. Adhere all the background layers onto a brown cardstock and machine stitch around the edges. Hand-stitch straight stitches over the torn pattern paper as shown. Chalk the stamped butterfly in a pink color and stickle the sentiment using Diamond stickles. Punch a border on another pattern paper using the Martha Stewart Deco Shells punch and doodle using a white pen around the edges. Use another strip of pattern paper and machine stitch this one. Using yet another pattern paper in a darker color, die cut a shaped border. Lightly ink all borders using Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink and adhere to the background paper as shown. Mat the 5”x7” photograph on pink cardstock; distress and ink the edges. Place over all the layers of pattern paper. For the flowers, stamp different size flowers from the Aztec Gold Sunflowers 2 Precut Set. Fuzzy cut them and add color by using pink chalk. Glimmer mist them with Pearl glimmer mist to give it a shiny finish. Shape your petals and build your flowers by layering a few of them on top of each other. Add a pink brad, some rhinestones and stickles to the center to finish them. For the leaves, stamp a few leaves from the Leafy Swirls Precut Set. Glimmer mist them with Olive Vine to give them color and fuzzy cut them. Add your flowers and leaves to the bottom left side of the photo and build your flower cluster as shown. Stamp the Bella Rose Vintage Background Precut Set a few times. Chalk the butterflies and fuzzy cut them. Ink their edges and add sparingly to the cluster and one over the title butterfly. Add a black pearl to their bodies and add stickles around the edges and body. Finish the layout by die cutting a butterfly from the Decorative Butterfly/Border, adding stickles and black pearls to the body and a Zva creative swirl as the trail. Add a title on the right side of the photo.

Hi everyone! I'm getting very exited since there is only 10 days till Christmas! Not only that, but tomorrow my hubby and I will be coming down to Miami for Christmas vacation and we will be staying there for almost 2 weeks! We are very exited!

Today I want to share with you a layout that I made based on My Creative Scrapbook's Dec. Sketch. They are holding a Fall Contest and I just found out about a few days ago so now I'm playing catch up :)

I played around with the sketch until it fit my scrappy style and number of photos that I wanted to use and this is what I came up with! I've been dying to make an orange-y layout since I purchased the Tim Holtz distressed ink pad 'Wild Honey" and I finally got to it with this layout using the peach colored Basic Grey papers from the Curio collection (~~that I've been hoarding~~).

I made most of my flowers. For the large red/orange flower, I used my Elegant Wild Roses tutorial and colored my flower with Burnt Red Glimmer Mist and touched it up Wild Honey distress ink to brighten it up a bit. The smaller peach flowers were done with the same dies (Spellbinders Carnation Creation). The leaves are a Heartfelt Creations stamp (which will be retiring 12/31/2011 so if you like it, go now befor ethey are retired and gone forever!). The script flowers are Recollections and I just added a few drops of diluted Vintage Photo reinker to the centers to give them some color.

I used one of my favorite Martha Stewart punches (Cherish) for the pattern paper where I placed my title. I added another smaller flower cluster here too.

I used a few layers of paper for my background and distressed/inked them. I finished the edges by adding some machine stitching. I printed a few butterflies and added them through the layout as a finishing touch.

I used Linda's (Heartfelt Creations owner) photo for this layout. I wanted to go with an elegant layout since she looks so beautiful in her picture! I used a die cut shape for the background and added a few layers and a doily.

For the flowers, I stamped and glimmer misted them with Maya Road Agave Blue mist diluted with water to get different shades of blue. I shaped and layered the stamped images and added liquid pearl dots to the center.

I used my all time favorite leaf stamps to fill in my flower clusters. I added glimmer mist (Olive Vine) to the leaves for a it of a shine. I printed and fuzzy cut a few butterfly images and added them throughout the flower cluster.

Here is another view of these gorgeous leaves!

I finished by adding faux stitching to all the edges and stamping a sentiment to the left of the photo.

Here is the step by step write-up for this layout:

Punch around the page using Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page Cherish. Cut out a die cut shape within the background paper. Distress all the edges of the die cut paper and add faux stitching around the edges. Adhere everything onto a light blue cardstock for support. Distress two more strips of paper, add faux stitching and layer them onto the background as shown. Mat your 5”x7” picture onto dark blue cardstock and add a small Scallop 3 Dot punched border on the left side of the picture. Add a white doily behind the picture and adhere to background. Stamp the sentiment on the strip of paper to the left side of the picture. For the flowers stamp different size flowers from the Aztec Gold Sunflowers 2 Precut Set. Cut them out and add color by misting them with, Maya Road Mist Blue Agave. To get the different shades of blue I mixed a little bit of the Agave Blue with water in a mini mister and sprayed some flowers. Shape your petals and build your flowers by layering a few of them. Add small Liquid Pearls dots to the center to finish them. For the leaves, stamp a few leaves from the Leafy Swirls Precut Set. Glimmer mist them with Olive Vine to give them color and fuzzy cut them. Add your flowers and leaves to the bottom right side of the photo as shown to build your flower cluster. Print, cut and stickle a few butterflies and add them randomly to the cluster. Die cut two butterflies from the Decorative Butterfly/Border set and layer them on top of each other. Fold the top butterfly’s wings up and add some stickles. Finally, randomly add Liquid Pearl dots around the cluster and add a title to the top right side of the photo.

Hello Bloggers! How is everyone doing? Today I have two quick Christmas cards using Bella BLVD products to share with you.

This card was really simple to do. I cut out a few trees from the Bella BLVD Christmas Wishes Borders, doodled around them and matted them onto a punched border. I then added this border on a green embossed cardstock. I added a sentiment and a few oak leaves to mimic mistletoe and machine sticthed around the edges.

This card was also very easy to make. I embossed a white cardstock and added a few strips from the Bella BLVD Christmas Wishes Borders pattern paper as well. I doddled around the edges to mimic stitching. I punched a green square and added it to the right side. I hand-pieced a snowman and added him over the green square. I made the sentiment on my computer.

I want to welcome you to the last day (Day 12) of AWDML 12 Days of Christmas! I hope that you have enjoyed as much as I have all the projects and sales over at the AWDML blog and store!

Today I have a really fun project to show you but I have a question for you first. What happens when an advent calendar meets December Dailies?
A calendar-style December Daily 12"x12 layout of course! You can display it on a table for the month of December as you are journaling on it and then store it away in your 2011 scrapbook album!

Here is a quick tutorial on how to make this calendar-style December Daily layout.

Supplies:

Pattern paper (Simple Stories 25 Days of Christmas Naughty or Nice, Simple Stories 25 Days of Christmas Peace, Love, Joy, Bella Blvd December Details Bits a Bella)
letter stickers (make sure you have enough numbers 1-25!)
Tim Holtz Distressed Ink (Vintage Photo)
Ranger White pen
Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page (Deco Shells)
store-bought or handmade Christmas embellies

Step 1. Cut up the Simple Stories 25 Days of Christmas Peace, Love, Joy paper in 2"x2" squares making sure that the image is centered.

Step 2. Ink all the edges and doodle a faux stitch line using a white pen. Number your squares and cut up a few words and images from the Bella Blvd December Details Bits a Bella pattern paper. Do not glue anything down yet. Just play with your embellies until you are happy with them.

Step 3. Cut a 2"x4" cream cardstock for each number (25 2"x4" cream colored cardstock).

Step 4. Fold the cardstock in half and adhere the decorative numbered square to one of the sides. Do this for all the numbers. Essentially you are making folded journaling spots for each number.

Step 5. You will end up with something like this.

Step 6. For the background, punch around the page using a Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page punch. Adhere to a green Bazzill cardstock for support and glue all your numbered squares as shown.

Step 7. Time to add your embellies! Add the cut out words from the pattern paper and a few flowers and holly leaves. Make sure that you don't overlap too much since it will be hard to open the journaling spots later.

Step 7b. Here is a close up of the finished calendar/December Daily layout.

Each day, journal inside the corresponding day. You can even add small pictures or mementos in there! Here is a picture of mine updated through today (I haven't lived today so I don't have anything for today yet).

TGIF! I've been busy making Christmas cards, gift cards and wrapping presents to Christmas music! :)

Today, I want to share with you another layout that I made for AWDML using one of this month's featured manufacturer Bella BLVD. I used the Bella BLVD Finally Fall line for this layout. I water distressed the background layer and I die-cut my brown paper with my Pazzles Inspiration, inked and hand stitched around the edges. I love how you can tunr any pattern paper into your own custom die cut paper this way!

Here is a close up of my layers. I die cut a few leaves, creased and inked them, and added sparingly throughout the page, mimicking me throwing them on the picture.

I handmade the sunflowers using Tim Holtz Tattered Florals. I die cut the pointy flower 3 times, stickled the edges with gold stickles and layered them together staggering the petals. For the center, I punched out a few suns in brown, crumbled them a bit and added them to the center. Finally For the leaves, I die cut them, inked their edges and ran them through the sewing machine. I love how these turned out!

This layout is based on the Creative Scrappers Sketch #185 (designed by me). I used a DCWV Christmas Stack that I've had forever for this layout and a picture of me in front of the Christmas tree about 2 years ago.

Instead of journaling as the sketch suggests, I made a little book using the Heartfelt Creations Book Frame 1 Precut Set. I stamped it twice and fuzzy cut one of them and layered on top of the other so that it would look 3D. I inked the edges and bent them in half for more dimension.

For the beautiful butterfly, I stamped and then die cut the butterfly from the Posy Patch Garden Delights Precut Set. I added some red rhinestones to the middle and some stickles.

Of course, I handmade all my flowers and had a blast doing so! Here is the tutorial to make them and let me tell you, these are addictive! :)

Here is the step by step write-up for this layout:

Distress the edges of your pattern paper and randomly tear pieces from the sides. Insert small pieces of green pattern paper behind the torn paper to create peek a boo areas around the edges of your layout. Adhere to green cardstock and machine stitch around the edges. Add a white doily off centered in the middle of the background. Die cut two Decorative Lace Borders and cut the top off. String some ribbon through it. Use the remaining ¾ of the lace and add it on top of the doily. Double mat your 4”x4” picture and adhere it on top of the lace and in the center of the doily. With the remaining die cut lace, trim a piece and add it to the top right corner under a piece of pattern paper. Stamp your sentiment above it and a butterfly tail below it using one of the flourishes from the Feather Grass Flourish Precut Set. Stamp and die cut using the corresponding die a butterfly and adhere it over the pattern paper and stamped flourish. Stamp the Book Frame 1 twice, cut them and layer them on top of each other bending the edges of the top book to add dimension. Adhere to the right side of the picture. For the flowers, stamp nine of each petal from the Perfect Petals Medley Set per flower onto red cardstock and die cut them. Tutorial to build the poinsettia flowers can be found here. Cluster your flowers on the top left and bottom right side of the picture and add some die cut Spellbinders Foliage branches to fill in. Finish by randomly adding different size liquid pearls around the clusters. Layout based on my sketch (#185) for Creative Scrappers.

Here is a quick tutorial on how to make this set of greeting cards using only one sheet of 12"x12" pattern paper (plus the card bases).

Supplies:

cream color cardstock for base
one sheet of double sided paper
Ranger White Opaque Pen

Step 1. Make or use 9 pre-scored card bases in cream color. (Shelly had a great Tip for us in a previous Newsletter on how to make 3 A2 cards out of a 12"x12" sheet of cardstock!). Run your card bases through an embossing folder to add some elegance to your cards.

Step 2. Cut your pattern paper according to these measurements.

(You will end up with something like this. I went ahead and flipped a few of my pieces already because I will be using the red sides for these pieces.)

Step 3. Use these sketches to make your cards. The number coincided with the numbers in Step 2.

(Your card design should look like the picture above now. For my sentiment I designed it on Photoshop and printed it on cream cardstock. I then glimmer misted the whole thing with Pearl glimmer mist and dried it right away to prevent any bleeding. You can download the sentiment here.)

Step 4. This is the fun and last part! Ink and draw a faux stitch around your pattern paper's edges. Make some poinsettia flowers (tutorial can be found here or use some store bought ones if you are short on time!), punch out some greenery and embellish your cards!

For the box:

Embellish a clear card box by adding a strip of embossed cream cardstock, a piece of pattern paper (cut out from the center of #4), a sentiment, a flower and a few greenery. Add a Prima crystal swirl and you are done!

friday...poinsettia tutorial using HC stamps

Hi everyone! I have another flower tutorial to share with you today! This time, it's a poinsettia flower using Heartfelt Creations Perfect Petals Medley Precut Set.

Supplies:

red and white cardstock
Heartfelt Creations Perfect Petals Medley Precut Set (HCPC 3313)
Heartfelt Creations Perfect Petals Die (HCD 704)
Spellbinders Carnations Creations
StazOn Archival Ink-Jet Black
Cuttlebug machine (or any die cutting machine)
Diamond Stickles
Burnt Red Glimmer Mist
Rhinestones

Step 1. From the Heartfelt Creations Perfect Petals Medley Precut Set stamp 9 of each petals.

Step 2. Die cut the petals using the corresponding Heartfelt Creations Perfect Petals Die. Die cut 3 small flowers from the Spellbinders Carnations Creations in the same color.

Step 3. Trim every other petal from the carnation flowers. These will be your poinsettia bases.

Step 4. Using your finders, crease each petal and glue them on each carnation petal.

Step 5. Layer your petals making sure that your petals are staggered. Now your flowers looks more like a poinsettia!

Step 6. For the centers, die cut 6 carnations in white. Using a stylus, cusp each flower upwards.

Step 7. Layer two flowers, staggering the petals and add a rhinestone to the center. Make three of these for the larger poinsettias and one for the smaller poinsettias.

Step 8. If you wish, glimmer mist in red the petals for a shiny finish. Add the white flowers to the center. You can leave the flowers as they are or you can go one step further (scroll down...).

Step 9. Using your Diamond stickles, go over the stamped lines and outline them. This gives the flowers a festive look!

There you have it! A gorgeous and completely handmade by you poinsettia flower! Don't you just love the Heartfelt Creations stamps? They are so versatile! December is officially here and today here in Kissimmee, FL we woke up to 60 degrees INSIDE the house and 51 degrees outside! So I'll be staying in today in my pjs and scrap my day away :)

I used a mix of pattern papers from Bella BLVD's Finally Fall and Tail Wagers & Cat Naps for this layout. I took these pictures of my dog up in my uncle's backyard. He was sooooo curious about all the leaves since he has never seen them before either! he would run around in then and sniff everything!

This layout is loosely based on Allison Davis's One-Page Sketch #13 which can be found on her sketch blog-Sketch Support.

Of course, everything is handmade by me-and mother nature! I used a few twigs on my layout!

I made the flowers using Tim Holtz Tattered Florals dies and Heartfelt Creations stamps. I added a few Spellbinders leaves and skeleton leaves that I had in my stash from when I first started scraping. I also designed and made the journaling box with my Pazzles Inspiration.

The real focal point in the sketch were the banner which I incorporated in my layout as well. I used twigs from outside to make these really cute banners. I added a few paper and skeleton leaves and that's it! I just love this area in the layout!

wednesday...double pager tip

I have a quick money saving tip for you tonight! Do you ever find yourself in a situation where you don't have enough pattern paper for a double pager? It happens to me a lot since I usually buy enough paper from a specific collection to make or one layout (and then buy some more if I really like the collection!) but sometimes I end up doing a double pager for those pictures and the paper is not enough. My solution? Cut everything in half and mat onto a cardstock!

This is what I did in my latest double pager using Bo Bunny Timepiece Collection:

Here is the step by step write-up for this card:
Using the large half circle die from the Layered Scalloped Posy Die Set, make a base using brown cardstock for your round easel card (instructions can be found here). Die cut a green lacy circle using the lacy posy die from the Layered Scalloped Posy Die Set. Die cut 2 cream colored circles. Mat the lacy circle onto one of the cream colored circles and adhere to the front of the card. Using the i-Rock, add tiny rhinestones to the posies’ centers. Place the other cream colored circle inside the card. Stamp the flower bouquet from the Flirty Fleurs Precut Set with black archival ink on cream colored cardstock. Color with Wild Honey, Peeled Paint, and Vintage Photo distress inks and hand-cut. Stamp 3 medium leaves from the Carnation Florals 1 PreCut Set, color using the distress inks and hand-cut. Adhere the flower bouquet to the front of the card as shown, molding the leaves and flowers with your fingers to give them dimension. Place pop dots behind the larger flowers to raise them from the card. For the inside of the card, stamp, die cut, and color 4 carnation flowers. Mold them and glue them inside each other to form a fluffy carnation flower. Stamp the sentiment in the bottom center of the inside of the card and place the flower above it. Die cut two flourishes from the Layered Elegant Swirl Die Set, snip any remaining connecting pieces and place them on each side of the flower. Add Brown Gala Glitz to all the flowers’ centers and apply tiny liquid pearl dots around both the inside and outside edges of the circles as shown.

Hi everyone! I hope that this week is a good one for you! I put up my baby Christmas tree yesterday-a 4 ft pre-lit tree. I told my hubby that even though we would be gone for most of December, I still needed a tree up in the apartment so he let me buy a small one. I love it!

Well, today is going to be a fast post since I'm still getting the house fixed/cleaned up after our vacation.

I want to share with you 2 cards that I made for A Walk Down Memory Lane using Maya Road products. Remember that this month (you only have 2 more days!) all Bo Bunny Press and Maya Road products are 25% off over at the AWDML store!

I used many layers for this card. I used the Maya Road doily stamps to make the black doily flower in the center by stamping two different size doilies, die cutting them and cutting a little slot between their petals and lifting them up.

For the kraft doily, I used the Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page-Cherish corner punch and punched around a circle. I then came back and stamped the doily over each scallop in brown distress ink.

For this card, I used different color distress ink to randomly stamp different doily sizes to make my background paper.I finished my adding some Pearl glimmer mist over the whole sheet of paper for a finished and blingy look.

I punched different colored butterflies and layered them. I also die cut the larger more ornate butterfly using the Heartfelt Creations-Decorative Butterfly/Border die three times and layered them. I used rhinestones for all the butterflies centers and finished the card by stamping a sentiment on the left corner and adding faux stitching around the edges.

Today I have a tutorial using the new Artistic Gatefold Collection carnation flowers from the Heartfelt Creations Black Friday new release!

Supplies:

HCPC 3438 Carnation Florals 2 PreCut Set
Spellbinders Carnation Creations
317430 Cuttlebug machine (or any other manual die cutting machine)
cream cardstock
Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Vintage Photo)
Tim Holtz Ink Blending Tool
StazOn Archival Ink (Jet Black)

Step 1. Stamp 2 of each of the largest Carnation Florals 2 Precut Set flowers onto cream cardstock and die cut them using the Spellbinders Carnation Creations die.

Step 2. Ink all the edges using a Tim Holtz Ink Blending Tool and Vintage Photo distress ink.

Step 3a. Curl and fold each petal into a v shape like so.

Step 3b. Here is a shot of the back of the flower so you can see how it should look. Do this to the largest 2 flowers and one of the smaller ones.

Step 4. For the last smaller flower, curl the petals upwards. This is how your flowers should look up until here.

Step 5. Place each petal inside the other staggering the petals and make a bud with the last smaller flower and place in the center.

There you have it! These roses are so fun and easy to do! You can bling them up if you like or leave them as is.

I absolutely loved working with this collection and I know it will become one of my favorite ones since it is complete with flowers, leaves and doilies!

I distressed the Kaisercraft paper and randomly tore a few areas and rolled the paper back. I stamped using the Vintage Life Background stamp onto red cardstock and placed it behind the pattern paper for a peek a boo effect. I finished it off with a few stamped and die cut Flirty Fleurs flowers and leaves cluster to accent these random tears.

The half doily die is one of my favorite item in this collection. It's so versatile! I die cut 6 half doilies and layered them behind a 9" distressed and machine stitched circle like shown in the picture to make a larger scallop circle.

You can see a better close up here of the scallop circle. I stamped the sentiment directly onto the circle and used perfect pears on it to make it show through.

Here is another shot from a different angle of the scallop circle. You can see how dimensional it looks on the layout.

Of course, my favorite things to make are the flowers so I left these for last! The carnation stamps and dies are amazing! I will have a tutorial on how to make the cream colored roses up on my blog tomorrow. For the red larger buds, stamp 3-5 of the second largest stamp in brown. Using a stylus, mold all the petals upwards and layer the flowers to make a bud. For the smaller buds do the same as above but use the smallest flower stamp.

Here is the step by step write-up for this layout:

Cut down a sheet of pattern paper to fit inside a pink 12x12 cardstock. Using Tim Holtz paper distresser, distress all the edges and randomly make small breaks on the paper. Using your fingers, roll the torn edges away from each other to achieve a peek a boo area. Ink all edges with Vintage Photo distress ink. Stamp a red cardstock with the Vintage Life Background stamp and adhere behind the pattern paper. Adhere the background unto the pink cardstock and machine stitch everything together. Using the large scalloped edge die from the Layered Scalloped Posy die set, cut 6 half circles from brown cardstock and glimmer mist them with Pearl glimmer mist. Cut a 7.5” circle out of pattern paper, distress the edges and machine stitch around the edges. Adhere the semicircles behind the large circle as shown to make a scallop circle and add to the center of the layout. Trim your picture to 4”x4” and double mat it with pink and red cardstock. Adhere the picture a little off centered on top of the scallop circle. Stamp the sentiment using Ranger Perfect Medium on the left side of the picture and use a white Perfect Pearl powder on it to make it show through. For the large cream colored flowers, stamp the 2 largest flowers from the Carnation Florals 2 PreCut Set 2 times each using archival ink. Color the edges using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and die cut them. Mold the petals by slightly folding each petal to form a v shape. For the center, mold the petals to face inward into a bud. Glue the different die cut flowers (two large in the bottom and two smaller ones on top for each flower) to make the layered rose. For the red larger buds, stamp 3-5 of the second largest stamp in brown. Using a stylus, mold all the petals upwards and layer the flowers to make a bud. For the smaller buds do the same as above but use the smallest flower stamp. Add flower cluster to the right side of the layout as shown. For the leaves, stamp 2 Bella Rose Leaves flourishes and a few medium size leaves from the Distressed Leaves Set. Die cut them, use Olive Vine glimmer mist to color them, mold them with your fingers and add to the cluster. Stamp on pink and red cardstock, and die cut some tiny flowers from the Flirty Fleurs Set. Using the Perfect Petals smallest die, die cut a few leaves. Add the tiny flowers and leaves around the torn areas around the page. Add a title and add Diamond stickles to all the larger flowers. Finish by randomly placing butterflies and liquid pearl dots around the cluster.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Today I want to share a Thankful layout with you because despite all the hard times there is always something to be thankful for.

For my family, this has been a very stressful year. My hubby and I moved on our own after being married for 2 yrs and living with my mom. Not only did we moved on our own but we moved to a new city, 4 hrs away from our family and friends. It was very hard in the beginning but now that we have been in Kissimmee, FL for almost 7 months we love it! Also, this year my hubby graduated from Pharmacy School so we also moved from students to working class status. It has been a long and hard year for us but we are still thankful for everything that happened!

One of our favorite things to do in this new city is to go hiking so I used pictures that we took in one of our most recent hiking adventures. I used the Basic Grey Curio Collection which happens to go really well with my pictures! This layout is based on my sketch #282 for Creative Scrappers.

I handmade all the flowers and greenery. The butterlies are actually part of the papers but they were too big for my layout so I scanned them and re printed them at about 1.5".

I used the sticker letters that come in the collection for my title.

Another close up of my layers. I hid my journaling behind the photograph because it was a bit personal.

Here is my hidden journaling. I cut the shape with my Pazzles Inspiration and printed the journaling onto the cardstock so that everything would fit.

monday...AWDML November 15 Reveal-Maya Road (3/4)

Happy Monday everyone! My hubby and I got back to Kissimmee, FL yesterday at 5 pm and we were exhausted from our trip but we sure had a lot of fun up in GA visiting my uncle and the family! We got to see Fall for the first time and it was amazing! I told my hubby that I felt like I was in a movie when we went hiking through the mountains! It was absolutely breath-taking! We also checked out Lenox Mall in Atlanta and the Aquarium. It was definitely an awesome mini-vacation despite the 8 hr drive each way! I'm sure that these pictures will soon start showing up in my upcoming scrapbook layouts.

This month seems to be flying by and I can't believe that today is Nov. 21st already! In a few more days it will be Thanksgiving!

I had a lot of fun working on this layout since I made all of the pattern papers that I used here.

For the white background paper, I just stamped the scrip Prima Notary Stamp in brown over the white cardstock. I used a bit of Antique Linen distress ink over it to give it a vintagy feel to it and randomly made small tears on the edges and rolled the paper back. I embossed a copper Heartfelt Creations swirly flower onto brown cardstock and added small liquid pearls dots around the edges.

For the stripes pattern paper, I simply used left over papers in brown/cream color and randomly adhered them to a 8x8 white piece of cardstock. I finished by inking the edges and some of the raised areas directly with my Vintage Photo distress ink. I also directly wrote my journaling on this paper using my white Signo pen. I added a few pieces of Maya Road Ribbon Satin Pleat Edging in cream and added my Pazzles Inspiration cut title on top. I added a Maya Road doily stamp over the side of the op picture that I stamped on vellum and finished that embellished area with a matching stamped flower by Heartfelt Creations.

Of course I handmade all the blooms and leaves on this layout. The bigger flowers are made out of peach fabric and the smaller flowers are a Heartfelt Creations stamp. I finished by randomly adding liquid pearls dots around the cluster.

Happy Saturday! I'm blogging from Gainesville, GA today! My hubby and I decided to visit my uncle and his family since we haven't seen them in a while and now that we moved to Kissimmee, we are only 8 hrs away from them (it used to be 12 so yes, I'm saying it is closer but not close!). :)

Anyway, yesterday was my little cousin's birthday and to honor her 11th birthday I'm going to share with you a card that I made for her using Maya Road products!

It is a very simple but elegant design. I made the blue paper using my tutorial and misted over it with Maya Road Blue Agave mist which I absolutely love! It's so shiny and has a great color pigment!

I loved working on this layout because 1) I love this sketch that i made (I might have to use it again very soon!) and 2) I love working with my wedding pictures. For this layout I actually handmade my own pattern paper (see tutorial here).

For the background, I started out with a white 12x12 piece of cardstock. I used the Daisy Patch Background Precut Set to clear emboss and the Large Elegant Word Background Precut Set stamp to stamp over the embossing with brown ink. I randomly tore a few areas around the edge of the paper and added a brown pattern paper under the peek a boo areas. I machine stitched everything. The doily was actually white when I started but I wanted more of a worn or old look to it so I mixed a bit or Vintage Photo Reinker and water in a mini mister and misted until I achieved the desired color. I went over it with a blending tool and added some Vintage Photo and Wild Honey distress ink to random areas. Finally, I randomly stamped the Bella Rose Rosebud largest swirly stamp onto the doily to add some pattern. I finished the background by glimmer misting everything with Pearl glimmer mist to add some shine and machine stitching around the edges.

I handmade all the flowers using the Daisy Patch Flower PreCut set stamps. For the flowers, stamp using brown archival ink a few different sized flowers from the Daisy Patch Flower set, cut them using the matching die and cusp all the petals. Build your flowers as shown-2 large flowers in the bottom and 2 smaller ones curled upwards on top. Add Brown Gala Glitz to the flower centers and Diamond stickles to their edges. Finish the cluster by adding some greenery, a few butterflies and randomly placed liquid pearl dots.

For the title I just cut it with my Pazzles Inspiration and added a small rhinestone to dot the i.

I added a computer generated quote that i printed on vellum. Printing on vellum always takes forever to dry so I added clear embossing powder to right after printing it and embossed it. Looks pretty and I can keep working on the layout right away!

Here is the step by step write-up for this layout:

Clear emboss a white cardstock using the Daisy Patch Background stamp. Stamp the Large Elegant Word Background stamp randomly over it. Trim to fit inside a 12x12 black cardstock. Distress the edges and randomly tear pieces from the sides. Insert small pieces of pattern paper behind the torn white cardstock. Adhere to black cardstock and machine stitch around the edges. In a mini mister, mix water with a little Vintage Photo Reiner, mix and mist a white doily. Randomly stamp the Bella Rose Rosebud largest swirly stamp onto the background. Using a blending tool add some Wild Honey and Vintage Photo ink to the doily. Mat the pictures with white cardstock. Adhere the layers and pictures as shown. For the flowers, stamp using brown archival ink a few different sized flowers from the Daisy Patch Flower set, cut them using the matching die and cusp all the petals. Build your flowers as shown, add Brown Gala Glitz to the flower centers and Diamond stickles to their edges. Cut 3 Belle Rose leaves and glimmer mist them with Olive Vine glimmer mist. Arrange the flower/leaves cluster as shown. Randomly add some butterflies to the cluster. Finish by adding a title to the left side and a quote to the right side of the pictures. Layout based on my own sketch.

I stayed pretty true to the sketch. The only change that I made was that I used one 4x6 picture instead of two 4x3 pictures. I made my own background using a brown cardstock, glimmer mist, and my handy Prima Notary background stamp.

I stamped a border using Maya Road Doily stamps around the background circle using archival black ink. These little stamps are so versatile!

Of course, I used my handy Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die to make my flowers! I made them out of brown and pink cardstock and added stickles to the edges. I also used the Heartfelt Creations Posy Patch stamps as fillers for the cluster.

I'm sure that most of you are familiar with Maya Road kraft envelopes. Well, I wanted to use one for this layout but forgot to get some. Luckily, I remembered that Lisa (a fellow Heartfelt Creations DTer) made a tutorial on how to make faux Maya Road envelopes so I made my own!

This layout is loosely based on a double page sketch that I made a long time ago and have never used myself!

The pictures that I used here were taken back in 2008 at a Masquerade Ball. My hubby and I went with some of our friends and had a great time! They even taught us a few Tango moves (which I forgot a few days later...)! I had the pictures for this occasion printed already but I still wanted to use this sketch so I made it work for me. That's the beauty of sketch! I used Bo Bunny's Timepiece collection for this layout because, honestly, the colors were PERFECT for my pictures!

Of course, I handmade all the embellies for this layout. I used Tim Holtz's flower die, a few cuttlebug leaves, some rolled flowers, swirls, a few butterflies and a Tim Holtz key that my good friend Kathy gave me!

For the title, I used this awesome font called Kyhota Barbed (get it free here) and cut it with my Pazzles Inspiration machine in red cardstock. Then I went back and added tiny liquid pearls to the barbed parts and that's it! A fun and different font and title for my layout!

For the journaling, I printed my journaling on vellum paper (remember those?), cut them into strips and added them to my page. I finished this area off by adding tiny liquid pearl drops on the sides.

I had a lot of fun playing with Bo Bunny's Gabrielle's Collection! I wanted to keep some of the white from the box so I used my Prima script stamp and stamped on the lid's edges with black archival ink and distressed the corners with Vintage Photo ink. I used the papers only for the top of the box and a strip on the sides. I only used 2 sheets of pattern paper to make this project!

I took advantage of the gorgeous and huge butterfly on the paper and centered my handmade flower cluster on it. I use tim Holtz Tattered Florals for the flowers and leaves from Michales' flower department. I finished by adding some butterflies and liquid pearls dots randomly around the cluster.

I also made a matching card for the recipient, who happens to be my mom!

She absolutely loved the altered box but she loved even more the handmade cards that I included for her! She says that now she wont have to buy another greeting card! :)

Happy Wednesday everyone! I want to thank those who wished me a happy birthday yesterday. My hubby and I had a great time at Animal Kingdom during the day and had a wonderful meal at Texas de Brazil at night. We came back home at 8:30 PM and settled down to watch a movie. It was a great birthday!

Today is Wednesday which means that I get to share with you my projects for Heartfelt Creations! Today I will be sharing two projects, a layout and a card that I made as a semifinalist for Heartfelt Creations. Let's get started!

I loved working with the Posy Patch (HCPC 3303) set of stamps by Heartfelt Creations! They are so versatile! I used another wedding picture for this layout which I have been dying to scrap! I used the Mariposa Stack by DCWV for this layout as well since it compliment my pictures so well. I based this layout on my own sketch.

For the flowers, I stamped and diecut using the matching Spellbinders Posy Patch Die (HCD 701) two of each different sizes. I used a pink chalk to color in the centers of each stamped image. I then cut up the flowers, used a stylus to shape the petals how I liked, and re built the flowers with 8 petals each (using the petals from both stamped images). I added black rhinestone to the center and added stickled around it. For the smaller flowers I just stamped, colored with glimmer mist, die cut and added to the layout as fillers. The leaves I designed and cut with my Pazzles Inspiration. Using my trimmer, I cut thin strips of green cardstock, curled them like you would paper ribbon, and added them to the cluster. I just love how this cluster turned out!

Here is another picture of a smaller cluster in the bottom right side of the layout using the unaltered posy flowers.

On the right side under the picture I added a glimmer misted doily.

I added two pink rhinestone circles in the center of the doily and a butterfly in the middle. I just love the pop of pink in this side!

Here is the step by step write-up for this layout:

For the background, slightly wet the pattern paper’s edge, wrinkle, dry and ink with brown distress ink. Make random breaks in the paper, curl the edges, and layer a coordinating paper underneath. Machine stitch everything unto a black cardstock for contrast. Cut out a die cut paper and hand stitch around the edge with white thread and place it on the left side of the page like so. Mat you picture on white cardstock. Punch out a few strips of black cardstock using Martha Stewart Scallop 3 Dot, cut the strips apart and keep only the scallop and first dot. Adhere around the photo mat as shown. To help explain how I made the flowers, I gave each stamp from the Posy Patch Flowers Precut Set (HCPC 3303) a number from 1-7 which I will reference, where 1 is the smallest and 7 is the largest. To make the blooms, stamp two #7 and two #4 posies using StaZon Timber Brown ink on white cardstock. Color your flowers using pink chalk, glimmer mist them with clear glimmer mist, let them dry and then die cut them using the coordinating Spellbinder Dies (HCD 701). Ink all the petals with brown ink and cut each petal apart. Using a stylus, cusp the petals as shown to give them dimension. Using only eight petals from the #7 posies, re build the flower. Do the same thing using the #4 posy petals. Use #6 and #3 posies (two of each) to make the other large bloom. Add rhinestones to the center of the flowers and Diamond stickles. My leaves were designed and cut using a Pazzles Inspiration machine but you can use any leaves that Heartfelt Creations offer. Die cut them from green cardstock, ink their edges using a green distress ink, glimmer mist others in Olive Vine, mold them with your fingers and add to your flower cluster. Stamp and die cut a few smaller posies, mist them with Burnt Red glimmer mist and cusp the petals. For their centers, punch out 3-5 suns, layer them inside each other and add to the flowers’ centers. Add black rhinestones to the smallest ones. Use these flowers as fillers in the cluster and add one to each other torn areas of the background paper. Make another cluster on your bottom right area and add a title there as shown. Cut thin strips of green cardstock and curl them like you would paper ribbon and add randomly to the cluster. Add a paper doily behind the picture on the right side of the picture. Add two rhinestones circles to the center of the doily, overlapping the picture, and add a butterfly to the center. Add two more butterflies to the cluster for balance. The picture is of my husband and me on our wedding day. Layout based on my own sketch.

I just love how this card turned out! I used the Posy Patch Swirls (HCPC 3304) stamp as a guide for my stitch work. I stamped directly on my card with black ink, then I came back and poked evenly spaced holes over the image and finally hand stitched the swirl with brown floss. I made the flowers the same way I made the posies in the layout above except that I layered two stamped images for the larger flowers and curled their petals up. I added a rhinestone center in each flower and finished it off by adding some tiny green leaves and a stamped sentiment.

Here is the step by step write-up for this layout:

Cut a 4.25”x5.5” cream colored card base. Cut out a die cut shape in the bottom of the base. Cut a pattern paper to fit inside the base and add 3D pearl paint dots to the edges. Stamp the largest flower swirls from the Posy Patch Swirls Precut Set (HCPC 3304) directly unto the pattern papers using StaZon Jet Black ink. Using the stamped image, poke evenly spaced holes along the swirls and hand stitch them using brown floss. To help explain how I made the flowers, I gave each stamp from the Posy Patch Flowers Precut Set (HCPC 3303) a number from 1-7 which I will reference, where 1 is the smallest and 7 is the largest. Stamp two #3, four #2 and seven #1 posies on white cardstock from the Posy Patch Flowers Precut Set (HCPC 3303). Mist them with Burnt Red glimmer mist to add color and die cut them using the coordinating Spellbinder Dies (HCD 701). Cusp the petals and place them directly on top of the stamped image. For the largest three flowers, cusp the petals of the second image inwards and place them right on top of the matching flower, alternating the petals. Add rhinestones to all the centers. Make a few small leaves out of cardstock, ink their edges and add them to the cluster as shown. Stamp the sentiment in the bottom right side of the card. On the inside of the card stamp the other flower swirl on the right side.

Good morning! Today's post is short and sweet because I have a busy day planned since today is my birthday! My hubby and I are going to spend the day at Animal Kingdom and then we are going out to dinner at Texas de Brazil (an all you can eat meat buffet!).

Today I want to share another birthday card, this time a more feminine card, using Bo Bunny Timepiece Collection:

As you all know, I recently got into card-making and I have to say that my favorite ones to make are birthday cards since I love to see the recipient’s face when they see a handmade card! I found this little birthday stamp by Basic Grey about a month ago and I have to say it has become my favorite! I originally got it because I liked the font they used for the main sentiment but now that I have it I love every little piece of the stamp! I also like the fact that it’s a clear stamp and is very affordable at only $1.79!

This is a very simple but elegant card at the same time! I just punched out 1.5" circles and layered a few butterflies on the darker circles. I stamped my sentiment and cupcake on a cream circle and placed the circles side by side, alternating from light to dark brown circles. I embossed the cream cardstock in the background and placed a Timepiece pattern paper over half of it. I used a Martha Stewart punched border to mat the pattern paper It was a very simple and fast card to make!

I absolutely love how these two cards turned out! I also love working with Bo Bunny's Timepiece Collection (I will be sharing a layout with soon later on this week!). I love the masculine colors and clocks that can easily be used for a feminine layout or card as well! I made the gears using cardstock, distress ink and my Pazzles Inspiration. For the first sentiment, I used a basic Grey birthday stamp and the second one is computer generated using Photoshop CS4.

My hubby took this picture of me sitting on top of an oak tree at a regional park here in Central Fla. I actually turned this layout in a step-by-step tutorial so I hope that you enjoy it!

Step 1. For the background, distress the Bo Bunny Wild Thing and Stripe papers making sure that one fits inside the other. Ink the edges using Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink pad. Adhere onto a cream colored Bazzill cardtock and machine stitch around the edges.

Step 2. From the BoBunny Zoology Collection 6x6 Paper Pad, cut a Stripe and Word papers to 4.5"x6". Distress the edges using the Tim Holtz paper distresser and machine stitch the edges. Mist half a doily with water and Vintage photo Reinker to make it brown.

Step 3. Double mat your photo using cream colored Bazzill cardtock. Distress the edges and ink them.

Step 4. Gather your embellies. Use a little bit of reinker on the center of the flowers to give them a brown center. Mist with just a bit of water to make the ink run and let it air dry. Hand make the orange flowers using Tim Holtz tattered Florals die.

Step 5. Adhere all layers (two rectangles and doily) and picture as shown. Add your flowers, trim, bling and butterflies on the bottom left side of the layout like shown. Add a title and another smaller cluster on the top right side of the layout and your page is complete!

I used one of my favorite picture from my wedding day and the DCWV Mariposa Stack that I've been hoarding for a few months now. I based this layout on my own sketch that I made for Creative Scrappers.

Here is the sketch:

Of course, I had to make a flower cluster with those wonderful stamps. I had a lot of fun using the Heartfelt Creations stamps to make my flowers!

I'll have a tutorial on how I made these on my blog very soon!

I cut the leaves with my Pazzles and inked them with Peeled Paint to give them depth. I also made these sweet little buds. I added a small pop dot between the three petals in the front and the rest of the bud to give it dimension. I love how they turned out!

Here is another close up of the other side. The stamp almost looks like a rub-on!

Here is the step by step tutorial to make this layout:

For the background, ink and machine stitch around all the edges. Gather four coordinating pattern papers and ink, distress and machine stitch each one of them and layer them, adding a darker color scallop edge made our of cardstock between the first and second layer, and second and third layer, as shown. Double mat the picture with white and black cardstock. Adhere all layers and picture as shown. To help explain how I made the flowers, I gave each stamp from the Posy Patch Flowers Precut Set (HCPC 3303) a number from 1-7 which I will reference, where 1 is the smallest and 7 is the largest. For the second largest flower, stamp two #6 posies using StaZon Timber Brown ink on white cardstock. Color your flowers using two shades of yellow chalk, glimmer mist them with clear glimmer mist, let them dry and then die cut them using the coordinating Spellbinder Dies (HCD 701). Using any paper shapers scissors, cut randomly around the edges of each petal to give them a jagged edge. Ink all the petals with brown ink and cut each petal apart. Using a stylus, cusp the petals as shown to give them dimension. Using only eight petals from the #6 posies, re build the flower. For the center, die cut one #1 posy in brown cardstock and using a stylus, cusp the petals upward. Punch out five suns and cusp them too. Now, layer all these brown punched out suns and die cut posy and place in center of flower. Add cinnamon stickles to the center layers. Make the larger flower the same way using two #7 and two #6 posies. Glue the flowers down like so. My leaves were designed and cut using a Pazzles Inspiration machine but you can use any leaves that Heartfelt Creations offer. Die cut them in green cardstock, ink their edges and center using a green distress ink, mold them with your fingers and add to your flower cluster. Stamp the largest flower swirls from the Posy Patch Swirls Precut Set (HCPC 3304) directly unto the pattern papers using StaZon Jet Black ink. Stamp one #3, two #2 and two #1 posies on white cardstock from the Posy Patch Flowers Precut Set (HCPC 3303). Color them with yellow chalk and die cut them using the coordinating Spellbinder Dies (HCD 701). Cusp the petals and place them directly on top of the stamped image. Do the same thing with the other smaller stamp on the right side of the picture. Paper piece three buds and add a small 3D foam to the front petals to raise them from the back to give them dimension. Place one on top of the stamped image on the right side of the picture and two on the left side of the picture for balance. To finish, make a few more, smaller posies and add them as fillers to the cluster. Add Diamond stickles to the smaller blooms, copper pearls to their centers, and randomly place rhinestones around the cluster. Add three butterflies to your layout and finish it off with a title. The picture is of my husband and me on our wedding day. Layout based on my own sketch.

I had a lot of fun working with the sketch and making my card. I used a pre-folded card base that I picked up from Walmart that actually comes shaped already. I used only one sheet of 6"x6" pattern paper to make this card, along with a few punched out circles from the Word paper. I cut out a circle where the head of the tiger was, distressed the edges and replaced it back on the card. Since the paper is gorgeous and I didn't want to cover it, I used it as an embellie. I added a few punched out circles and buttons. I mixed reinker with a bit of water and dyed my white ribbon brown. I stamped the sentiment directly on the ribbon and then added the ribbon to the card. I finished by adding some faux stitching on the card.

friday...handmade paper tutorial

Happy Friday everyone! I finally finished the tutorial that I've been promising for the past month (sorry!). I'm also hosting a challenge over at AWDML's blog today to make your own pattern paper. It's a great way to try this tutorial and get a chance to win over at AWDML! Ok, let's get started!

Throughout the month you have seen me use handmade papers on my layouts and today, I'm going to show you how I made them so that you can try it too for a custom look on your layout and cards!

Step 1. Start with a cream colored 8.5"x11" sheet of smooth cardstock. Randomly emboss using the Prima Notary Stamp and a leaf stamp. Remember to go over the edges for a more finished look. My leaf stamp is by Martha Stewart and I've had it for a while. Clear emboss the whole sheet of cardstock using your heat embossing tool.

Step 2. Using your Tim Holtz tool and Tim Holtz Peeled Paint distress ink, lightly cover most of the cardstock like shown. Remember to vary the shade of the color by adding more or less ink to any given area.

Step 3. Add some Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink in random spots to add dimension. Your cardstock should look like this when you are done.

About a month ago, my husband and I went for a walk to a regional park close by and we saw this gorgeous owl sitting on a branch really close to the trail. She was just looking at us and I just snapped pictures of her and got these two really good shots and I knew I had to scrap them soon.

For this layout I handmade my own paper. Tomorrow I'll finally have the tutorial up here on my blog so come back tomorrow again!

Of course, I also handmade my own flowers using Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers dies (which I LOVE!). I added some pearls and Prima flower center to my handmade flowers and finished them off with Diamond stickles on the petals. I die cut some leaves (Cuttlebug 2x6 dies leaves & netting) and swirls (Decorative Flourishes Set Sizzix Sizzlits Dies Set 3 pk) in different shades of green and added them to the cluster. I finished it off by adding a few computer generated butterflies.

For the title, I used two different Thickers because I ran out of e's from the main Thickers pack. I stickled the e and i (for balance) with cinnamon stickles to give it some bling.

Now, I'm by no means a stamper but their stamps are absolutely gorgeous and so easy to use and do you know what's the best part? Some of them come with a custom matching spellbinders die! I'm honored to be part of this team and can't wait to start designing with their stamps and dies! Stay tuned because this is going to be so much fun!

tuesday...just sharing some layouts

Happy Tuesday everyone! I'm glad to you stopped by my blog today as I have two fun projects to share with you! I got to play over the weekend over with Birds of a Feather monthly challenges (they host 5 every month!) and got 2 layouts done over the weekend!

The first one started out as a lift for the scraplift challenge but somehow it morphed into the color challenge. the colors are red, orange, green and yellow (fall colors).

here is the layout that I scraplifted by Jenelle:

The pictures I used are of my kitty and doggy sleeping on my bed together. These two are the best buds which I find very interesting because my dog hates cats (with a passion!). I just love to play alon their challenges because one) I', always up for a good challenge and two) I can always manage to use only scraps in those challenges! All the papers I used are scraps from my scraps bin!

Of course, I handmade all the embellies on this layout. I've been wanting to make a circles layout for a very long time and this design was easy to adapt into one that used circles as embellies. I handstitched some and doodles on others to give depth and texture. I also added buttons to balance each corner out.

The paper rosettes I made with my Fiskars border punch and a cream colored cardstock stamped with my Prima script stamp (love this one!) in brown. I finished them off with a bitton and th eother one with a best friend pet brad. I ~~glimmer~~ misted with vintage photo reinker mixed with water on both corners.

Now, since I ended up using the last layout in the color challenge, I had to lift another layout for the actual scraplift challenge :)

Here is the layout that I scraplifted by Krissy Clark McKee:

Isn't it gorgeous? She actually scraplifted it from Liz Chidester (but that's another story...LOL)

and here is my take on it:

I used the pictures of my hubby and I decorating the Christmas Tree back in 2009 (our first Christmas together as a married couple). That year, we decorated the tree Red/Silver/White so I used the same color combo for the layout. Again, all the papers used here are scraps. I handmade the poinsettia flowers using my Pazzles Inspiration to cut them in different sizes but I pretty much followed my tutorial (you can find it here). I outlined the flowers with silver stickles and added different size rhinestones to the centers.

I really liked the three strips of papers on the left side of the layout so here is how I made it work on my layout::

I first stamped with my Prima script stamp on grey cardstock. Then glimmer misted the whole thing with clear glimmer mist and doodled around the edges with my white Signo pen. I finished by adding a button in red, silver and white.

I hope that you have enjoyed your weekend. I know I did! Hubby and I went to a state park and spent so many hours there just trailing. We saw cranes and wild deer. Can't wait to scrap the pictures!

Well, today I want to quickly share another project using Ranger.

I had a lot of fun working on this layout! I took this picture of my mom in 2009 on her birthday but the colors in the background were too busy so I turned it black and white which left me a lot of cushion room to play with colors! I opted to do a blue/brown layout thought but love the results! I made my own pattern paper, the light blue background paper, for this layout using glimmer mist and Prima script stamp. I water distressed and inked the edges.

I made the flowers using Tim Holtz Tattered Florals dies which I just got and I LOVE already! I stickled the edges of the flowers for some bling.

Using my Cuttlebug, I die cut some leaves using different shades of cardstock, inked their edges and molded them with my fingers. I also made the rolled dark blue flowers and added a few butterlies and some bling to finish the cluster.

I handmade the banner using cardboard and added a bow at each end and tiny buttons in between the pendants. I just love how it turned out! I have hidden journaling under the picture (the make a part of the title pulls out to reveal the hidden journaling).

I made my own pattern paper using Prima Notary (script) stamp, a Martha Stewart Butterfly stamp that I got for $2 at Walmart some time back and Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink (I'm working on a tutorial on how to make your own pattern paper). The leaves are also a stamp by Martha Stewart that I colored with Peeled Paint distressed ink and hand cut them.

For the flowers I used Tim Holtz new Tattered Florals dies, MME pattern paper and Prima's flower centers. I made the sentiment on photoshop, printed it on white cardstock and adhered to my card.

tuesday...AWDML October 1 Reveal- Jillibean Soup (3/3)

Good morning everyone! I was actually away for the weekend. Went sto see my FIL who is moving to WA state next week. His family (MIL and younger BIL) will follow as soon as they sell the house. Hubby and I had a nice visit but it was sad to see how the house has changed already since they are packing and getting rid of some furniture that they can't take with them. We did have a good visit though even though it was a very rainy weekend down in S. Florida.

This card was so easy to make! I used the Jillibean Soup Spotted Owl Soup Dancing Hats paper for it. I cut a few strips off the pattern paper, inked the edges, and glued them on my brown pre-scored card base. I then machine stitched through all the strips of papers. The little owl I handcut out of the Spotted Owl Soup 6 Silly Owls paper. Isn't he just darling? I stamped the sentiment (by Basic Grey) in black but it was too dull against the bright colors of the paper so I went over it with Black Diamond stickles to make it pop.

I actually made a sketch for this card and turned it into a challenge over at the AWDML blog. Below is the sketch:

Pretty simple sketch, right? Plus, it gives you an excuse to use those tiny scraps of pattern papers that you can't throw away but are too small for a layout!

wednesday...OMG! I can't believe that I made it!

Wow! Ok, I have some news but I'll start in the beginning... So, I've been following Lisa Gregory's blog every Wednesday because that's when they reveal their Heartfelt Creation projects (and I LOVE what she makes with their stamps!) and I'm lazy so I start with Lisa's and then hop over to the Heartfelt Creation site from her blog. Well, they had a DT call that ended Sept. 30 and I figured that I'll throw my name in the hat. I guess hoping to be chosen but not really expecting it, if you know what I mean. Well, they released the semi-finalists today on the blog and guess what? YUP, I made it to the semifinalist list! This means that I'll be competing with 19 other ladies for the DT! wednesday...AWDML October 1 Reveal- Jillibean Soup (2/3)

Happy Wednesday everyone! The week is almost over!!! :)

Today I want to share a few tips with my next project using Jillibean Soup products. Remember that this month's featured manufacturers for AWDML are Jillibean Soup and Ranger (very exited about this one but I'll have more on this manufacturer on the 15th!). I had so much fun with this layout since the pictures I was working with are of my funny hubby playing racketball (and posing for the camera!) back in 2007. I was inspired by the design of a layout that I made last month (you can see it here) and tried it with a masculine page and love how it looks. I love all the layers it has!

Of course, I made most of my embellies. I used this tutorial by Lisa (modified just a bit) to make the leather-like tag. It was a fun but messy process! LOL I do love how it looks and it gives the layout a very masculine look. I was plesantly surprised to find out that Jillibean Soup makes corrugated shapes, specifically, stars! As you know, I've been handmaking them from cardboard but Jillibeans offers them precut already and they were so much easier to use! I painted them with acrylic paint (white) and then randomly used my paint dauber in brown to give it some depth and color. I added different shaped buttons for the middle and white fabric thickers for this part of the title.

For the other part of the title, I used Jillibean Soup corrugated alphas (which, again, didn't know they existed!) in white. I used my dauber again to paint some areas to match my stars. I distress, inked and machine stitched all the layers.

I handmade a banner with left over papers from my stash. Stitched through it and added tiny buttons in between the pendants. Now, for a fun TIP!

TIP: Don't throw away those pretty Prima flower/bling packaging! Use them on your layout as an accent (their borders are beautifully shaped!) or even as journaling tags like I did here! I just inked the edges and placed on my layout to use as a huge journaling tag!

monday...sharing a few cards today

I hope that everyone had a great National Card Making weekend (National Card Making Day was Oct. 1)! I sure did as I spent my weekend making a few cards and enjoyed playing along Pink Paislee's challenges.

For my first card, I used this Becky Fleck's sketch:

I mirrored the sketch and came up with this card:

I absolutely loved the row of buttons on the sketch and made sure that I made this the focal point of this card. I used buttons that I had lying around, most of them from old shirts, and stitched them to the card. This extra step really makes the card. I used both sides of Pink Paislee's North Pole pattern paper. I used the lighter grid pattern side as the background for my card.

I stamped a 4x6 piece of this pattern paper with Prima's Notary stamp and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then inked the paper with Tim Holtz vintage photo ink to make the letters show. I finally glimmer misted here and there with Suede glimmer mist to give it some shimmer. I then trimmed the paper to fit in my card base (4.25x5.5") pre-bought card base. I distressed the borders and machine stitched around the edges. I punched out a small border using my Martha Stewart punch (Cherish) and then added the row of buttons and finished it off with a computer generated sentiment. I entered this card in Challenge #7 Mixed Media Challenge, which was to use more than 2 mediums on a card. I used glimmer mist and Tim Holtz's ink.

For my second card, I used a Pink Paislee 365 degrees flip notes as my focal point:

I stamped a white cardstock with Prima's Notary stamp yet again with brown ink (StazOn). I then stamped Martha Stewart butterflies and used some perfect pearls on them. I finally glimmer misted some spots with my Frost glimmer mist. I then inked and machine stitched the edges and attached to the cream colored base. I added some Pink Paislee papers to make the border in the middle. I added the notecard, stamped a sentiment by Fancy Pants and finished it off with a handmade Pink Paislee papers circle cupcake. I entered this card in Challenge #6 Stamping Challenge, which was to layer stamps. I layered my scrip stamp with Martha Stewart butterflies (perfect pearls).

My third card was my favorite of all!

I designed and cut the shape of the card with my Pazzles Inspiration out of cream cardstock.
I used the Pink Paislee's Butterfly Gardens collection for the background of this card. I handmade the flower and glimmer misted the top 2 die cuts with Suede glimmer mist. I finished it off by adding a stamped sentiment by Fancy pants to the Pink Paislee die cut sticker circle. I entered this card in Challenge #3 Shaped Cards which happened to be hosted by Karola ( I absolutely LOVE her shaped cards!).

Finally, for my last card, I used the pretty lace paper from the Sweetness collection along with my sewing machine to make the background:

I stamped a white cardstock with Prima's Notary script stamp and inked the edges. I then added strips of the pattern paper that I hand cut, and machine stitched zig zags in between the strips. I love how the background looks! I made the little cupcake with Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden paper and glimmer misted the 3 smaller circles with Suede glimmer mist for some glimmer and difference in color. I finished it off by adding a stamped sentiment by Fancy Pants. I entered this card in Challenge #2 Stitching Challenge.

Good morning everyone! I can't believe that it's October already! This year is really going by so fast. Before we know it, Christmas will be here!

I just love how these lines are so easy to use! I used them for a masculine birthday layout and absolutely love how it turned out! I also used a sketch by Becky Fleck, which is perfect for the pictures that I had of my hubby's birthday last year. I stayed pretty true to the sketch as I absolutely loved it!

I made a small cluster on the bottom left side using handstitched circles, a corrugated arrow and numbers and a little hand cut birthday owl from the pattern paper. This cluster is very masculine (I didn't add any flowers!) and it has a lot of texture, perfect for a masculine layout!

I really liked the 3 smaller photos in the sketch so I made sure that I included it in my layout. I added 3 different sized buttons for a pop of color and as embellies. Buttons and cardboard definitely scream masculine to me so I had to add these to the layout. I hand cut another little own and added him to the bottom right side of the pictures. For the title, I cut the shape with my Pazzles and hand stitched around it to add some texture to it. I lightly stamped on the white cardstock with light brown ink so that it wasn't all white.I cut the title with my Pazzles.

I forgot to take a picture but I have hidden journaling behind the picture. I stamped the make a wish sentiment on a white cardstock and printed my journaling on it. I trimmed to size and hid it behind the picture on the left side. I added 2 smaller buttons here for balance.
