friday...Donna Salazar Challenge layout

The weekend is finally here! Do you have any plans this weekend?
My best friend, hubby and baby girl are coming up to Orlando and they are bringing my mom with them so I'm pretty exited about it! Should be fun!

Today I quickly want to share with you a layout that I made for Donna Salazar's Jan Challenge. It's a sketch challenge as well as a color challenge and both the colors and sketch were amazing this month!

and here's what I made:
These pictures are from 2009 and are of my now hubby and his mom at the local park. We all went and just hung out at the park for a few hours and it was so nice and refreshing. We even took their dog!
I used a few sheets from the Natural Beauty Collection that i had in my stash as well as Donna Salazar alphas and Spellbinders Rose creations, Carnation Creation and Bitty Blossoms (I couldn't decide on one so I used them all!) for my flowers.

I added some burlap behind the picture to make is a bit more masculine, since hubby was also in the pictures. I distressed and machine stitched everything as well.

I had fun with the flower dies and made my own flowers for this layout. I also included a few wooden clocks from the Swirlydoos January Kit in here. The background pattern paper is by Authentique (Cherish 3) and it's also from the Swirlydoos Jan Kit. It just went so well with the Donna Salazar papers that i had to use it!

I inked the edges of the alphas to give them a bit of color and a light distressing. I fuzzy cut some dragonflies and included them into the layout as well.

Here's a side view of the layout so you can see how much depth and texture I achieved on this layout.

Thanks for stopping by my blog again today! Have a wonderful weekend!
