friday...ODBD December Release Reminder

Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs December Release, here is the card I created using the new  Living WatersDouble Stitched Circles, and Double Stitched Rectangles! It is also a goodbye since this is my last month with ODBD. Thank you for all of your sweet comments while I've been on the DT! I'll be sure to keep in touch through blogs!

For more inspiration using the December Release be sure to visit the ODBD Blog.

ODBD Products: Living WatersDouble Stitched CirclesDouble Stitched RectanglesLovely Leaves DiesSmall Bow Dies

I wanted my card to focus on the gorgeous Living Waters mill so I opted to make this card simple with just a few details. I stamped and colored the mill on white cardstock and highlighted the water with stickles (see close up picture). I cut out a large circle from the new Double Stitched Circles on the brown and white cardstocks and layered them over a shimmery blue cardstock over the white background base. I added some pearl drops on the top corners and die cut a bunch of greenery and a blue bow to add right under the colored image.

ODBD Products: Elegant Embellishments SetElegant Embellishments DiesLovely Leaves DiesMerry Mosaics DiesDouble Stitched Circles

I had so much fun making this ornament and believe it or not, it's my first attempt EVER to making an ornament! Yes, it is that easy! I stamped and cut 20 ornaments from the Elegant Embellishments Set and glued 4 together to make each individual corner. I added them all over a circle to create a 'snowflake' with them. Right in the center I added another circle and started layering leaves and a dark blue poinsettia with a pearl center.

Here are a few close ups of the ornament:

Here it is on my Christmas Tree! :)

thursday...one ODBD stamp, two cards

Hi everyone! I have two cards to share with you today!

Here's the first:

ODBD Products: Safe TravelsDouble Stitched CirclesDouble Stitched RectanglesLovely Leaves DiesChristmas Paper Collection 2013

I wanted to make a snowy scene with this bridge stamp and came up with this card. I stamped and colored the image and die cut it with the new circle die. I also embossed the background pattern paper with the Double Stitched Rectangles to add some dimension and tie it all together. I added some swine to the left side of the card and then added the colored image and a sentiment to the left side. i finished it off with some leaves under the sentiment and some 'snow' all around the image. I just love how this card turned out!

Here's a close up of the card:

Here's my second card:

ODBD Products: Safe TravelsDouble Stitched CirclesDouble Stitched RectanglesLovely Leaves DiesVintage Ephemera Paper Pad

My second card using the same image is very different since I went with a Shabby Chic, monochromatic card. I colored and die cut the bridge image with the Double Stitched Rectangles and added it right over the center of the pattern paper background. I added my stamped and die cut sentiment over the left side of the card and finished it off with a lace bow and some greenery.

friday...leftover papers card tutorial

Hi everyone! I have a small tutorial and a card to share with you today!

How do you clean your desk space? After every card/layout or when you can't find your work surface anymore? I happen to clean after every card or at least after every set of cards/projects I'm currently working on. For example, last time I cleaned out my desk was when I finished my two cards for the New Release blog hop for ODBD December release. You can see my cards here. Well, after making that Tri-shutter card i had a lot of odd shaped/size pattern paper but were too pretty to toss so I ended up using them!

Here's the card I made with whatever was on my desk while I was "cleaning up":

ODBD Products: Saddle upDouble Stitched CirclesPretty Posies DiesLovely Leaves DiesRustic Beauty Paper Collection

Here's a tutorial on how I made this card in under 20 mins:

Step 1. Gather your leftover pattern papers and put them together to make a 4"x5.25" background.

Step 2. Adhere them over a scrap (ugly papers work great for this!) 4"x5.25" paper. Ink the edges and machine stitch all around it. This last step really helps bring all these random pieces of paper together.

Step 3. Lastly, stamp your image with brown archival ink on cream colored cardstock and die cut it with a Double Stitched Circles. Ink the edges lightly with Vintage Photo ink to give it an antique feel and mat it on dark brown cardstock.

Here's a close up of the card. I adhered the matted image, a sentiment and a handmade bloom over the center of the background that I just made. I die cut a bunch of leaves and used them to embellish the card. Easy peasy and under 20 mins! What more can you ask for? :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Have a great weekend!

Here's my first card:

ODBD Products: Living WatersDouble Stitched CirclesPretty Posies DiesFancy Foliage DieLeafy Edged Border DiesRustic Beauty Paper Collection

My first card is a tri-shutter card I made using the Leafy Edged Border Dies. I made this card for my mother-in-law's birthday and she absolutely loved it! I used the Rustic Beauty Paper Collection for the background and the Pretty Posies Dies,to make the flowers. I stamped the  Living Waters image in the center panel of the card and lightly colored it with Prismacolor Pencils and blended them with OMS. I stamped the sentiment on one of the new Double Stitched Circles.

Here's a close up of the card for you to see the stamped and colored image:

This is how the card looks when it's completely closed:

Here's my second card:

ODBD Products: Saddle upDouble Stitched RectanglesDouble Stitched CirclesLovely Leaves DiesRustic Beauty Paper Collection

I went for a masculine card with this one. I colored the horses from the NEW Saddle up set with Prismacolor Pencils and blended them with OMS. I embossed the Double Stitched Rectangles unto the brown cardstock and used it as my background. I stamped the sentiment and added it to the right side of the colored image. Finally, I made a small lasso and added it over some greenery.

Hi everyone! I can't believe that it's December already! Where has the year gone? I have two cards that I made with North Coast Creation November release that I forgot to share last month so here they are.

My first card:

NCC Products: Cactus Lights

I made this one simple but striking by using bold colors for my background. I colored the cactus with Prismacolor Pencils and added a bright colored bow to pull this card together.
