saturday...new sketch!

Good afternoon! I just wanted to share with you real quick the latest newsletter by A Walk Down Memory Lane (AWDML). We release a brand new newsletter every Friday filled with tips, techniques, tutorials and sketches among other things (such as an occasional coupon!) so don't forget to sign up today to get your newsletter on your inbox every Friday! You don't want to miss them!

I made a double pager sketch exclusively for this newsletter. Here it is as well as my take on it!

Remember that even though the sketch asks for flowers, you don't have to use flowers. In my sample, I used tear bears in place of the embellishment clusters! Hope you enjoy this sketch! I'd love to see what you do with it!

Have a great weekend!

wednesday...

Hiya bloggers!
So today I have two more layouts to share with you, along with a sketch!

Here's the sketch:

and my take on it:

I used the sketch to make another wedding layouts and it went perfectly for my wedding party layout. We had 6 bridesmaid and groomsmen couples so fitting so many pictures in one or even a double layout was a little challenging. Of course, I handmade all the flourishes as wella s butterflies. The flowers are prima's (surprise, surprise!) and the background paper is from La Creme Colllection by DCWV. The doily is from the dollar store. I cut the title & black leaves with my pazzles.

Finally, here another 1 year anniversary layout of me!

It doesn't happen ofter but there I am in the picture instead of taking the picture! I love how this layout came out! I made the flowers (which I love!) and the flourishes using 3D paint. The little hummingbird in the top left corner is a stamp and this is actually my first time using a real stamp in a layout! I love how it cam out! It was also my first time cuting out the design and fitting my layout under it. I did this with the butterflies that overlapped teh strips of paper in the background. i hated that they would be covered by the strips so I decided to cut the out and place the over it! Hello, where have I been? I know that scrappers have been doing this for so long but I hated the idea of cutting the pretty paper. Of course, I also hated the idea of covering it so cutting won!

This layout is based on Sketchy Thursdays GDC for July. Here's the sketch:

Anyway, than you for stopping by! Have a great day!

New Project for 2009: Project 365

I have a new project planned for 2009. Have you heard of Becky H.'s project 365? She has come up with a new kit which will allow you to take a picture a day, journal about it and scrapbook it. The kit will be on sale starting on Jan. 1 for under $40. I think that it is a good deal for non scrapbookers. For scrapbookers like me, however, making my own is the best alternative. The concept is not so hard: one double layout arranged so that 7 pictures and 7 journaling blocks fit.

I came up with a few sketches of my own as well as my interpretation of Becky's.

I also have my first two weeks of January pre made already.
Since the year starts on a Thursday, I used the left side of the double layout for my new year's resolutions.

This is, more or less, Becky H.'s idea of the layout. I made my pictures smaller (3"x5") than hers (4"x6") since I do want some of my pattern paper to show.

I have a thread on a website on scrapbook.com to help each other through this challenge. If you want to check it out and join, you are more than welcome! :)

Remember that the Special Auction that I have listed on eBay to help pay for scrapbooks for the little girl's family ends tomorrow. Here's a link to the auction if you need it:

Ok, signing off for now.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
