Happy Sunday bloggers! Today I want to share with you a wedding layout about hubby and I's first dance. You see, we didn't plan to have a first dance but when we got to the reception, I was greeted by my best friend, the maid of honor, telling me that we were doing a first dance! Of course, she chose a really long song and I felt we were in the dance floor for ever! You see, i don't really like to dance which is why we didn't choose a song to begin with! At the end, I'm really glad that she did that and it is a sweet memory that i will always cherish! (all this is included in the journaling in the back of the layout)
I was very inspired by this month's Once Upon A Sketch challenge. The theme was love (how convenient for me!) and the sketch is gorgeous!
Here's the sketch:
and here's my take on it:
For the journaling area, I printed out the lyrics to our first dance in vellum and added it as a layer to that side. I used Pink Paislee's London Market – Kensington pattern paper because I loved the music print and thought it would go perfect with my picture-and it does!
Of course, I distressed, inked and machine stitched all around my layout. I added some Petaloo blooms and some handmade leaves.
I used a wooden piece by Kaisercraft which went perfectly as my photo corner. i love the look of it bare so I only added some pearls to make it pop a bit more.
For my wedding album, I chose the same font for my title to keep it flowing. I used my Pazzles Inspiration to cut my title and my Cuttlebug to emboss it. I then added stickles to it to make it stand out.
I'm also using the same butterflies throughout the album so I handmade a bunch of them and now I just grab them to use in my layouts.
I used a variety of blooms in creams/browns to compliment the photo. i also added a TH film strip (which I love) to add some interest.
thanks for stopping by my blog today. Come by tomorrow and I'll share another wedding layout with you! My goal this year is to finally finish this album! :)
