I made a card with this collection because it screams MASCULINE to me and I'm always having trouble making masculine cards.

Supplies-
HCPC 3394 Classic Bella Rose Precut Set
HCPC 3461 Western Sentiments Precut Set
HCPC 3463 Western Elements Precut Set
HCPC 3467 Woodland Growth Precut Set
HCD 712 Bella Rose

Other:
My Mind’s Eye  Lost and Found Two-Breeze, Tim Holtz Distress Inks (Vintage Photo), StazOn Archival Ink (Jet Black), Tim Holtz paper distresser tool, Prismacolor Pencils (PC908, PC909, PC945, PC947), Shapeabilities Labels 18, Crafter’s Cord True Hemp (Camouflage), Diamond Glaze,  button, sewing machine

I distressed my two background pattern paper/cardstock layers to give it a masculine and rustic look. I then machine stitches all around the edges and adhered it to my cream colored cardstock. I stamped the fern image randomly directly unto the stripped cardstock to age the paper a bit.

I stamped my fence image and colored it with Prismacolor Pencils and blended them with OMS (love this stuff!). I die cut the image using Labels 18 largest die. I embossed it and inked the inside and pop dotted it before adhering it to the card base. I added some hemp cord, some thorny branches and finished it off with a house button.

Here's a front view of the card. I just love how bright and cheerful but masculine it turned out!

Here is the step by step write-up for this layout:
Fold a 8.5”x11” cardstock in half and cut in half. This will be your card base and it should measure 5.5”x4.25”. Cut a piece of brown cardstock down to 5.25”x4”and a piece of pattern paper down to 5”x3.75”. Distress the edges using Tim Holtz distresser and ink the edges. Machine stitch these two layers together, wrap some twine around the bottom side three times and adhere to background. Stamp the fern image directly unto your stripped pattern paper with Vintage Photo distress ink and lightly distress all the edges with this pad. Stamp unto a cream cardstock the fence image and the sentiment. Die cut and emboss the image using the largest Labels 18 die. Stamp a second image of the fence and color both of these images using Primsacolor pencils. Pop dot the die cut image and apply Diamond Glaze over the wooden looking part of the title for a shiny finish. Lightly distress the embossed edges with Vintage Photo. Stamp and die cut a few thorny branches onto green cardstock. Add them to the left bottom corner. Add a button over them and finish by adding a bow made out of the twine.

  4. Very nice masculine card. I really like your distressed edges and the edge coloring on your die cut. I do think I would have used a plain "old" round button as the accent, though.
