friday...The Paper Mixing Bowl GDT

Happy Friday everyone! I was so exited when I read the email from Sarah asking if I wanted to GDT for The Paper Mixing Bowl-I immediately said yes! If you don't know about them, first of all, I recommend that you go and check them out now! They are a monthly scrapbooking challenge blog and they provide you with a recipe which you must follow and they also includes a sketch!

Here's this month's recipe:

I just fell in love with that sketch and well, the color green is my favorite! Here's what I did:

I used two pictures that I took of my brother in law and his baby boy (my beautiful nephew!) last Christmas (yeah, Miami is hot enough where you can go to the beach after opening presents on Christmas day!). I just love how these pictures turned out and had to scrap them! I wanted the layotu to be masculine so I distressed the background and used cardboard and cheesecloth (included in the ScrapThat! August Kit).

I made two pinwheels and added a button as their center to embellish my page.

The journaling card is actually a digi element that I got some years back (sorry, I don't remember where though!). I printed on white cardstock, cut it out, distressed the edges and hand wrote my journaling.

I used hemp cord to make a circle and used glue dots to adhere it unto the background. I made a few dragonflies and added them randomly around the title and pinwheels.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
