I used a picture of my ADORABLE niece that I took of her when I last saw her almost 2 months ago. She is just too cute!
For the flowers, I stamped and die cut the flowers and then I used an embossing tool to mold each petal. I then layered two of the same size flowers and a small one in the center, staggering the petals. I finished them off with a dew drop as their centers.
Here's another view of the flowers and the cute name tag that I made.
I used the leave die that come in the set to make a doily and I love how it turned out! I also made my own pattern paper (the blue one) by heat embossing on the paper and applying blue distress ink over it. I love using this technique! Here's a tutorial that I made some time back, if you are insterested.
Close up of the title ad adorable butterflies. They look so sweet as well! :)
Here is the step by step write-up for this project:
On a 5”x8.5” pattern paper, heat emboss the corner and
border stamp from the Sun Kissed Fleur Border & Corner PreCut Set. Using
the Tim Holtz blending tool, add Stormy Sky distress ink over the whole pattern
paper until designed color is achieved. Distress the edges and machine stitch
all around it. Adhere over a pattern paper from the Sun Kissed Paper Collection
as shown. Stamp directly on the background the swirls from the Sun Kissed Fleur
Swirls PreCut Set on the right side of the layout in black archival ink. These
will look like rub-ons when finished. Add a dot transparency over the homemade blue
pattern paper and then add your 6”x4” photo in the center of the layout. Die cut
5 leaves from the Gift Ensemble Die set and interlock them to form half a
doily. Tuck in under top left side of the picture. Trim two 1” strips of
leftover and coordinating pattern paper to 1”x 11”. Cut a v notch at the end of
each of these strips of paper and doodle black lines around the edges. Tuck in
under photo. Stamp the Striped Sun Kissed Fleur PreCut Set twice and the smallest
tag from the Sun Kissed Tags & Basket PreCut Set. Die cut the flowers using
its appropriate die and fuzzy cut the tag. Handwrite the name of the person on
the photo on the tag and color the leaves using the Tim Holtz marker and
flowers with distress ink. Adhere the tag over the bottom of the photo. To make
the flowers, dry emboss two of the same size blooms and layer over each other,
staggering the petals. Add a dew drop to their centers and stickles to their
petals. Let them dry. For the leaves, mist them with Olive Vine glimmer and let
it dry. Add flowers and leaves over the bottom of the photo. Stamp and die cut
a few butterflies out of pink cardstock. Add a tiny flower from the Gift
Ensemble Die set and a white pearl as the centers. Add these butterflies
randomly around the page. Finally, using a contrasting color, add a title to
the top right side of the layout.
