saturday...Swirlydoos January Card RR

Happy Saturday everyone! Today I'm sharing with you my card for the Week 1, Group 2 Round Robin! I got to be first in my group this round!

The requirements for this round are:
Color: Monochromatic - ie all the tints, tones and shades of a single hue and you can add black or white
Technique: Embossing (dry or wet)
Embellishment: Add a Pin

and here's my take on it:

I made my card monochromatic using different shades of green and added a few touches of white. The green pattern paper is from the January Swirlydoos Kit and the rest of the materials are from my stash. I distressed all the edges and machine stitched the layers together before adhering it to my card base. This card measures 4.25"x5.5".

I handmade the flower with satin fabric (tutorial by Lisa) and pretty ribbon (tutorial by Lisa) that I had in my stash. I also handmade the flower center with some loose pearls that I've had for a while. I also made the stick pin with the same loose pearls that I had. I die cut a few different types and shades of greenery and tucked them into the flower cluster.

Here's another view of the whole card. I dry embossed the leaves and the green oval cardstock behind the flower.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today! Have a wonderful and creative weekend!
