Let me share a little bit about it with you...
Showy, elegant and graceful, the divine orchid flower is one that is most certainly recognizable for its unique shape and known for taking center stage all on its own! Heartfelt Creations presents to you their newest collection…The Botanic Orchid. Overflowing with stunning floral images enveloped in soothing moss like greens, soft sky blues, creamy whites and flowery pinks, alongside rich burgundies and vibrant teals this collection is sure to appeal to any flower enthusiast. Intricate illustrations and die cuts of orchid blossoms and bouquets, accompanied by delightful hummingbirds and scripted sentiments will have you creating your very own botanical experience with hand shaped orchid flowers bringing a realistic touch to all of your paper creations! Preprinted sentiments along with those in the stamp collection are ideal for covering a wide range of occasions including weddings, friendship, sickness, encouragement and sympathies. As one of the oldest flower species in the world, this unusual blossom native to rainforests and jungles has also taken on beautiful meanings relating to each specific orchid color including innocence, grace, joy, respect, admiration, health, happiness and passion, making this the perfect flower to convey a silent but special message for friends and loved ones on any paper creation!

For this layout I used a picture of my husband and I on our wedding day. We just celebrated our 7th year anniversary this past May! My wedding bouquet had orchids in it so this NEW collection was perfect to scrap this picture!
The papers in this collection are gorgeous! I chose one that looks layered already so I didn't have to do much! I did layer a 6"x6" card front that I cut in half and tucked behind the photo to make it seem like it was bigger.
I added the chipboard gate that I made on the left side of the photo. You can see a tutorial for the chipboard gate HERE.
I stamped, colored and die cut the flowers and added them over the left side of the layout and around the gate. I also added a few hummingbirds throughout the layout. These little birds are so sweet!
Here's another close up of the flowers and sweet humingbird.
Here's one last view at my full layout.
Here is the step by step write-up for this project:
Cut a 6"x6" card in half from the Botanic Orchid Collection, distress the edges and add over the center of the 12"x12" paper. Place your 4"x6" photo over it. Make a gate chipboard using the new Botanic Window Die and add crackle paint to it. I have step by step pictures on how to make your own chipboard gate HERE. After it dries, add over the left side of the layout. Stamp the large sentiment from the Botanic Orchid Wishes Stamp Set and the hummingbird and orchid from the Botanic Orchid Bouquet Stamp Set, color using the Prismacolor Pencils and die cut with its matching die. Stamp the hummingbirds and four flourishes, color with Prismacolor Pencils and die cut with their matching dies as well. Stamp the orchids and add color with the ColorBox Fluid Chalk Ink Pad (Rouge) and small dauber. Color the center of the orchids with the yellow coloring pencil. Add glitter to all these colored and die cut pieces and set aside to dry. Arrange the embellishments around your layout as shown. Finally, cut out two sentiments from the pattern papers, cut off a notch at the end and add in the bottom of the flower cluster. Add a small sentiment on the right side of the photo and finish off with some liquid pearl drops around the flower clusters. Thanks for stopping by! Remember to go to the Heartfelt Creations BLOG and check out what the other designers made with this NEW Release! Have a great rest of the week!
