friday...using a layout sketch for a card

Happy Friday everyone! Today I want to share with you a different take on one of my layout sketches.

Do you remember this sketch from the daily inspiration sketches on March 14th? I'm sure that you do.

Well, you can use any layout sketch and with a few tweaks you can turn it into a card sketch.

See how easy that was? I just shrunk all the layers to fit a rectangular card, replaced the photo with a sentiment block and removed the journaling area.

Here is my card using the 12"x12" layout sketch:

Supplies-cardstock: Bazzill; patterned paper: Basic Grey; ribbon: Hero Art; stamps: Basic Grey; ink: Tim Holtz Vintage Photo; punches: Martha Stewart; tools: Cuttlebug, Tim Holtz Paper Distresser; other: Scribbles 3D Paint, green buttons from stash, flower

and a close up so you can see all the texture and layers!

I used a cluster of green buttons from my stash to replace the flower cluster in the sketch. Remember that even though the sketch asks for flowers you do not have to use flowers! It just means that you need some sort of embellie there. I added some faux stitching on the Basic Grey paper ( I actually machine stitched my original layout) and mixed up the strips of paper with Hero Art ribbon. I ran my white cardstock base through the cuttlebug to add some texture and added my sentiment.

Hope you enjoyed this card that I made from a layout sketch and I'd love see you try it too!
